Mmmm yeah.
This thread is 2 weeks old.

And your point is what other than endorsing the cost benefits of Boogera crap-o-la ?

Come on man you got to admit that shit is bottom of the barrel [none cheaper] stuff.
Like whats cheaper than Behringer stuff ... ? Nothing.

Cheaper as in : build quality, price, reliability ect.
I’ve said right from the beginning that they use cheap components. All I’m saying is that today’s Bugeras are better made than the ones that had all those quality problems over 6 or 7 years ago.

You get what you pay for. Bugera are cheap to buy and cheaply made, but they work and they have one of the lowest warranty return rates in th industries.

I bought a no name wampler buffer knock-off thats not bad but it doesnt have 500 volts running throught it.

I have a feeling Uli Behringer hides behind the EU Lawyers to keep American Companies from suing his pants off for copy-write infringement.

 Yeah that’s it! :noplease:

Behringer has been sued several times for infringement, especially by Peavey.

Boogera is NOT a weber just like a Ford Pinto isn't a Ferrari.
If your Boogera is smoking, unplug it, throw it in a bucket of water, then throw it in the trash because thats what it is, Trash.
Ive had a Hot Plate for a year, use it alot & it doesn't even get the slightest bit warm.

Love the comments that claim smoking electrical devices are normal.
Yaw'll never went to Fire Fighter School did you ?
"...throw it in a bucket of water, then throw it in the trash..."

Sorry Micky, I did not see that. I was looking it up on my mobile phone.

However, since we are comparing cock sizes now should I edit my original post and leave? :hmm:

Well, if you are embarrassed about it, sure.

I had a look at the specs for that PS1, and I reckon it has heat issues ready to happen. It uses variable resistor or Lpad elements to absorb maybe half the total power, and that has to mean significantly high currents running through fine resistance wire, contacted by a moving wiper. This will inevitably get blisteringly (and smokingly) hot, and its very hard to get cooling to it. I doubt if that unit has the industrial-grade spec to handle it properly!

I think it is better to get most of the power absorbed by switched stages, and use a variable control, if needed, only for that last part where higher attenuation is needed.
