I picked up a Bugera ps1 attenuator and while it works decent it cuts the treble more than I like. I would like to wire in a 2 way treble boost similar to what the Webers have. I've got on/off/on switches and plenty of caps for the project. Wondering if I could set it up similar to a treble bleed circuit by hooking switch to lug 2 and 3 of L-pad? Greatly appreciated.

I ended up wiring the switch onto the wiper and outer lug of the L-pad. Used 4.7uf an 10uf caps. Sounds as good as my old Weber and brings all the treble back at high attenuation settings Turned my $50 attenuator into a very good sounding and usable one with a couple bucks in parts and an hour of work.

In very interested in doing could you tell me what were the voltage the capacitors are that you used or possibly a parts list I could you I would be very grateful thanks

Do you have a sketch of the wiring and parts list?

Yes I used 10uf and 4.7uf caps. I believe they were 630 volts. A 3 way on-off-on 6 lug toggle. Solder a cap to top 2 lugs and bottom 2 lugs. Solder a wire to each middle 2 lugs. Then run the 2 wires to lug 2 and 3 of the L-pad. Works killer. I will take it apart and get better detailed pics here when I get some time.

When i modded my old Benton PA100 i ended up with a 10uF too. It helps, but i prefered to play it without the cap engaged if i had to play at really low volumes.

I don't see 630 V caps but 63 V. Is that what yours are? Also, do they need to be electrolytic caps?

No u want non polarized if possible. The 4.7uf is a subtle treble boost and the 10 is very noticable. Try different values with alligator clips but pretty sure you'll use those values. Sound best to my ears. Simply solder wires to 2 and 3 lug of L-pad and run to center off lugs on switch. Then solder the chosen caps on top and bottom of toggle. Really quick and simple will take longer drilling hole and mount toggle.
