I wouldn't in a million years think that a guitarist from the US would not be familiar with Kx's catalogue.

funny, the 1st time I saw them, the crowd was a who's who of music. Everybody studied them intently...

I found myself sitting at the table next to Gene & Eric from Kiss, the Bangles were there. Megadeth, Keel, McAlpine, too many to name/remember.

Their manager dumped ZZ Top in their MTV heyday, to manage them.

They were a musician's musician band...

They were. I like that "Love ..holding back the weather" tune. That's it. I never liked the sound "musician's musicians" bands produced. McAlpine ...yucky IMO. I guess I was more into songwriters in general whether there was either a guitar or not in the song.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

You've got a choice- Kings X or you can have Ty Tabors(the guitarist) solo albums. Check out his solo albums namely SAFETY; BALANCE: NOBODY WINS WHEN NOBODY PLAYS...etc....

I wore the Kings X records out back then. Phenomenal band. I love the 12 string bass on those songs as well as the guitar sound. Pinnick rocks. Tabor rocks. Solid songwriting.

Tabor is the humble genius. His solo stuff which he plays all the instruments on and produces is a breath of fresh air.
