Not sure what to do with this. I think I stole it from Floyd's Shine On

Yes, but my bad ideas don't sound good...

I like how I missed the first beat at 0:50 but kept playing until the next bar when I got back on beat

...I have about 13 hours of these :D

You call that foundation? :applause:
Well I have figured out the notes that are actually on the guitar since then.
That is from late 2020, judging by the few earlier recording I have of barely being able to play, I started playing guitar on april of 2020

I've been playing for quite some time now. I don't play to be good. I don't consider myself to be a great song writer in any sense. Everything to me is just a sketch. When it gets stale, I forget it and move onto other ideas. I only play because I like where it takes me.

If you ever get past the stage of "barely being able to play", let me know how you did it!

Keep jammin, my friend! -jim

OMG, I could listen to that drunk shet all day. The first one was ways better than the second one, and I expecially like how you ended it. :yesway:

Yeah my whole soundcloud is just my drunk playing.
instead being 40+ hours of sleep deprivation.
I'm still impressed by the random wicked licks I pull off, all of them I have never heard before, instead it's all just happy accidents.
In the "Virši zili virši sārti" - A 19th century Latvian folk song. in the cover I did, I missed the first note and instead with all the distortion and reverb is sounds ghostly.

I did, quite fast. I was going to a guitar teacher, who was both great and terrible depending on how you look at it.
He wouldn't give details on anything, instead he just showed me a few chords and told me to play till I got sick of it, then play some more.
Now that didn't work for almost any other guitarist that went there, for years they would still be playing the same few chords. but for me, it was like a competition, I would try to play the best stuff I could, just to try and get that guitar teacher to be impressed.
Just over a few weeks I learnt to play the tetris theme, fingerstyle, and also some chet atkins stuff. Which was the first and only time I got a "wow" from the guitar teacher.
Then I found out about stevie ray vaughan and his sound captivated me.
But that guitar teacher just wouldn't get it, and I wasted all the rest of time until now, sticking with him and his band, until he threw me out because when he asked if I "heard THE SOUND" which was the type of tone you'd expect from some modern pop song, I said "no, I would have played it differently, with not as much overdrive". So yeah kind of a prick, but I know he means well, it's just not his style.

But yeah I mean I got past the point of barely being able to play just as I started to get interested in playing, I saw back to the future and spent countless nights trying to learn the solo from the movie note for note.
You can hear me play a cover of johnny b goode on my soundcloud too, it's almost just like the movie version.

My past dating choices prove I like messing around with bad ideas.

Thank God I grew out of that...or did I?

I guess an argument could be made that I've been messing around with my last bad idea a lot longer than my previous bad ideas.

That just gave me an idea! Later!!! 😁

Well here's some more if you really want to listen to that shit

untitled56 is the first recording that doesnt sound like ass, apart for "ka man gribejas saules lekta" which is a cover, with the first solo I played.
some shit out of tune, is very epic
And that's all the tracks I had space on soundcloud for.

And so you know I ain't bullshittin when I say I was incredibly sleep deprived on all of them, look at the time stamps:

Oh and I guess I started before april of 2020 since I realized these too are from april.
Maybe I just didn't have the mojo for guitar when I was recording that one voice memo.

Not actually learning the songs I play is still a bad habit of mine.

Fun story, I was learning this one iconic Latvian rock song, and in the song there's a full note bend from the 3rd fret, D string, and the second time there's a vibrato on that note.
I struggled for so long at first to put the vibrato on a full bend on that wound string, a year later I was watching the band play it live and he didn't bend that note, he slid it up to the 5th fret...
At least I got steel fingertips from that :D
