Looks like the whole chassis was sloppily mounted, probably in haste to get it manufactured and out the door. There's probably others like it too.

I would exchange it. I mean, it just ain't right.

    I would return it ASAP.
You paid for a new amp and you received a factory 2nd.

Do the buttons work properly, meaning do they touch against the edge of the hole and get hung up? Looks like they are rubbing?

If the buttons and knobs aren't rubbing against the panel I would still keep it. I'm pretty sure that has happened with these all along, even on the UK DSLs.

I agree that you should return it. I get where you’re coming from and in the back of your mind it will always bother you if you don’t.

The fact that we are having this discussion at all is reason enough to return the amp. It is inexcusable for a store or manufacturer to sell a brand new amp with these issues, as minor as they seem.

I have had the amp for 8 days. The rep knows about the flaw in the tolex.

While I think the OP is being way too picky about the tolex, the knob and tolex give me pause. I'm curious if this online retailer is selling seconds and returns as new for as new prices.

My mistake, but given the fact that you're still dwelling on it, you should still return it.

Who’s the retailer? After this response- assuming you are ok answering - your next post should be a pic of your new amp :)

I would return it post haste and for the replacement I would request extra packing to insure it's safe delivery to your home . I did a preemptive move before my Marshall 2555X and 2551AV were delivered to my home with giving my consent to have the Blechley shipped equipment opened and extra packed with packing foam and cardboard esp. for the speaker cloth not to arrive ripped and extra packing for the amp head so as no broken glass , and do you want to know the only bitch for me and the UPS driver was lugging that cabinet up a flight of stairs to my second floor . We had to bring it up step by step by like rolling it up end to end to get it up . I seen the poor UPS driver struggling to get it out of the brown truck and then bring it to my door . Not a scratch on it and in pristine museum quality perfection did it arrive to me . Moral of my message don't expect them to do the right thing -get on the horn and return and ask to have the factory seal broken in order to do a visual inspection and upon everything checking out ask for extra packing with foam and cardboard so it is airtight and no room to get knocked around in transit .
