The government (or any in history) never learned that the more you suppress something, you get the opposite effect.
Far, right on. I think weed is passe' now, much like tattoos. Grandmas toke and are inked-so much for being outlaw!
To those of us that survived the outlaw years, Kudos! it was our good fight, and we helped bring it into the light and break the illegitimate stigma attached to it. With its re-emergence as legitimate medicine, and acceptability socially, more so than Alcohol in some places plus with the files released from DC saying that IN FACT that the drug war was created expressly for the Criminalization, and suppression of the Left wing, and Ethnic communities in America... We know it was all a pack of lies Smoke em" if ya got em'!
sin, I'm all for all-out legalization-prostitution, all drugs,gambling..... 2016 I realize humans will do whatever they want to. Weed is OK, I know many people who abuse it ,living in a fog under the guise of "pain management." Ccccooouughhh must take my "medicine." Staying high every second. I believe we need drug+booze buses. You get "legal" pot you give up your driving rights and ride the bus. Driving stoned is impaired driving. Heroin+painpills+Coke should all be let loose, time we let people 'party'themselves to death.
A police state is wrong, and probably one of the first things to be rectified. Police thuggery can make people, rebel against society. I think that if you legalise drugs you ultimately decrease production, and increase unemployment and a recession is inevitable. I would never ever base my opinion about someone because of color. That is so ridiculous!! Sure some laws are ridiculously outdated and should be changed, but drug laws are in place to protect the rights of those that pitch in and are a member of society in fact, not just because its unpopular to have classes. A classless society will fail. The only ones that scream for a classless society are the ones that are unproductive and living off the upper class. And they don't even realise that they are trying to stress the lifestyle of the one that feeds them. Back on topic for a moment. I don't find it strange that potheads who bludge all day long, will get up and do some work for weed. Its a destructive action so they'll be motivated by it.
That's an illogical argument that's based on a misconception that only a certain segment of society (lower classes) uses marijuana. What is true w/lower classes, however, is that they are disproportionately facing the business end of the legal system as it pertains to laws on the books, whereas the 'productive' members of society receive a slap on the wrist. I'd argue that a muscular policy toward creating jobs / wealth will do a lot more for people than creating a nanny state dictating what people do behind closed doors.
Well it seems that you are a cannabis user so It's a waste of time discussing it. We won't agree on much to do with this topic.
Well, I'm sorry you feel that way, but my point is that things are not always as they seem, and the way they do seem, is often times a result of a carefully crafted message to sway popular opinion. While I can't speak for Australia, I can tell you that here in the United States, the regions that have been hurt by drug use / imprisonment are also the regions (primarily) that have been disproportionately hurt by a loss of jobs / opportunity. I'll also point out that this is an issue that is only exacerbated w/the trend toward private / for-profit prisons (the more criminals you create, the more money you make).
Yeah cause that 5.4 BILLION dollars in LEGAL Cannabis sales last year ALONE Didn't generate any worthwhile tax dollar funding for EDUCATION, and INFRASTRUCTURE. Both of which are severely lacking in America.
Oh and never mind the 25% drop on opiate od's in Cannabis friendly communities, Oh and the Pesky suicide rate keeps dropping too, how bad it must really be....
Oh and the fact that 80% of medical Patients stop using OTC and prescription pain / Therapy meds entirely...
It's amazing that the ones that judge are usually the ones that don't really know what they are talking about. Love how they *need* to ban/outlaw (for everyone else) everything they don't like or agree with. Further, when people turn around and scrutinize the judges, all we find is that they are no different than anyone else no matter how hard they try to redirect, scream & whine to the contrary. Everyone has their proclivities/vices/dark-side. *EVERYONE*. ...and those that deny it are liars, hypocrites, and fraidy-cats.
I don't know how old you are, and it shouldn't matter... Drugs are a no win situation. Most of these guys that smoke weed regularly go through bouts of depression. Some of them even start threads about their depression. You're right-its your business what you do.
(frikkin KNEW it) ...right on cue, and I rest my case. Clearly you know not of what you speak Aus. You simply regurgitate the propaganda and popular talking points. (Blindly & ignorantly) Judge on Aus, judge on!
