Problem with that ad is there are several cock rock tributes here already including spandex & wigs.
As for me im looking for a band with players who are genuine & can be themselves, not a circus act.
BTW look at the rest of the ads on that page.
Nothing to choose from. Its like that everyday.

C'mon Danny boy it's good ol' American rock music with a tad bit of Hollywood thrown in.
Cater to your " I'm a serious musician " on your off days! :dude:

You can’t judge anything from a freaking ad. Worst case they confirm your fears and you’ll have had a chance to rock out. Better than not rocking out imo.

P.S. If you fit their criteria the least you could do was go for a jam, meet the band, see what they're like, how competent they are, how many gigs a year and the pay grade.
No harm no foul and you may be pleasantly surprised.
Don't deny yourself the opportunity for some good jammin' and some fun, if nothing else.

Bands take alot of time & effort.
Finding one thats worth a shit is 1/2 the battle.

Those amps sound and feel a lot better breathing a little. And there aren’t many quiet 80s/90s rock bands. :jam:

Excellent! You've got your standard rock band gear.
Of course if 80's American rock ain't your thing well it's understandable that you don't want to play that type of music. Your gear doesn't look made for a jazz ensemble however.
That band is an era tribute band. Dressing the part is what trib bands do.
Trib bands get gigs and make good money doing it.
And they have a blast doing it.
Couldn't hurt just to talk to them.
Besides there's gonna be at least 10 other guitarists wanting a gig like that.
So you may not be up to snuff anyway.
Go fer it and tell us all about it, pro or con.
Going for it and giving it your best shot is the success.

Wigs are for women with no hair.
    Not wearing a wig man.
I posted this ad as a joke to reflect the current anemic band situation here in town not as a serious prospect.
Many tribute bands here in town.
Only one wear wigs & i know who they are.
I asked for the band name & video a few days ago.
No response. Pretty bad when run an ad & hide who you are.
Most bands post band name & video of their work.

Well if you got no response from them that's a whole different story.
Well Danny boy if you've got a full head of hair and wear it longish you might not have to wear the wig.I don't know but the point is now moot.
If there are many tribute bands in town then the band situation appears to be far from anemic.
In any event good luck in your search for the right group of musicians.

In most areas I would say that it’s more of an audience problem than a band problem. People just don’t go out to see local live music like they used to, so there isn’t a lot of demand for bands.

My craigslist musician's section has 2 ads.

One is of some guy who fancies himself a hip hop artist is offering his "studio" for people to use for a pretty penny, and the other is what I think is a misplaced ad for what used to be the "casual encounters" section...it has nothing to do with music, but the words "come play with me" do appear in this ad, followed by "privacy is a must" and a half written/half numeric phone number...

Comparatively, STL is looking pretty decent lol

But if they do it would be to see a tribute band.
