Gibson changed a lot for the better on the 2020 LP Standards.
that's what happened to my Hamer burst...
I have bought several Strats from them. The Wildwood 10s are really nice.
Exactly , as I have seen this term used to identify Les Paul's of late and it is a head scratcher for me as well . The only thing I can come up with is the bean counters must think with a coining a new term for a color that will sell more guitars ?
Don't hate on Mark . Once he started working for Gibson all of the hounds of hell have been unleashed on him . I liked him from when he was working at Norms and doing the guitar of the day videos .
This pissed me off royally . After finally getting my first historic R9 in 2014 ,the following year Gibson Custom comes up with this brain child ( and I love Gibson mind you ) along with a massive price increase of $2300 bucks that is correct . Then they are talking about accurate formulas for vintage correct plastics , rolled fingerboard edges , a more accurate top carve , wet sanded final buffing stage that is supposed to mimic the vintage finish . I know I am probably forgetting something , but for a modest price increase of $2300 bucks . I got into all kinds of arguments with folks on this matter as I was calling major BS (once again I am a major fanatic of Gibson )
Anybody with a You Tube account can make a video talking Sh#$ about Gibson . Cry me a river !
That's actually nice both in color and figure . I really like that one !
That would be more accurate and correct actually !
with the new ownership group taking over from Henry J things are ever upward !
what is the finish on your guitar, in your avi?
This "unburst" is more bursty than yours...
I don't hate Mark - I don't even know the guy...
But, he did set himself up for ridicule. I'm sure he can take it, it goes w/ the job. He could have done things different. Still, though, no malice intended. Just a joke, that, like I said, that, he set himself up for...
Dirty Lemon burst , which to me it's just Lemon burst . Now for the life of me what is so dirty about it ? As you can tell I don't care for the "Dirty" part . Guitar is courtesy of Wild West Guitars in Pasadena California . This is a good shop . Without me even asking the manager knocked off money , and then he did not charge me for having my ThroBak pickups installed . Great shop and really great to do business with !
They ran out of “Burst” names! It could pass for Cherry Burst!
I believe it’s correct as I recall seeing this finish name in the past!
We need the "Implode" as a new finish from Gibson.
Reverse the burst!
I'm thinking tobacco skidburst!
A white sg, light blue lines coming from the horns to form a v stopping between pups, then a brown smear coming from the rear straplock, up thru the bridge and petering off between the pups!
Looks more like an Underburst:
I'd say typo. Looks like a Lightburst like they made 'em in the early 2K's.
I'd like to see what a "Slappy Burst" would look like.
