Hey everyone, first post here. I 've been building Marshall style rack mount preamps and I am looking for options on where I can get some Marshall style faceplates and or custom as well?

    Thanks in advance

She has made countless of faceplates for me and others on here, and is super nice to deal with. Just make sure your measurements are spot on, as she cuts what you spec.

This is great. If/when I decide to turn my DSL40C into a head I can order a reverse face plate so I can mount it like the other Marshall heads with the controls on the bottom. Thanks for posting.

That has been a topic of Combo>Head conversion for a while. I would love to see a DSL40 done the right way up.

Even if you get a new faceplate made hour knobs will worth opposite meaning counter clockwise.

I'm not understanding that. If I were to flip my amp upside down, relatively speaking 6 would be where we normally expect zero volume to be, and 4 becomes full volume. All I need to do turn the knob fully counter-clockwise, remove the knob and reposition it to line up with the six. A new face plate would be 0 instead of 6 and 10 instead of 4. We're still facing the amp so the direction of the pot doesn't change. If we were to view it from the back of the pot, then yes, the rotation would be opposite.

Isn't the 40C chassis the same as the 100 - just flipped? All the switches and knobs are in reverse order. The pots still work the same.

    Or am I missing something?

Doesn't matter if you flip the head over. Clockwise still increases the volume. You'd just print a new panel with all the artwork for each knob rotated 180 degrees. I've done that, for someone who wanted to have his JMP combo amp (2104) front panel customized so all the controls are readable from the FRONT of the amp, instead of from the back. That's a special order panel for now but I'll probably make a few to have in stock in my next production lot.

Since I've been building custom one offs i wanted the ability to make a couple faceplate templates that are editable so whatever changes I make to future builds I can just change labels or add holes as needed. I decided the best way would be for me to dig in and learn the graphics programs (inkscape was recommended) and roll my own. I then ran into this video which I thought was an awesome idea and I want to learn KiCad anyways so I am gonna try it out. Has anyone here done anything similar?

I do all my panel design with Adobe Illustrator, but there are many valid ways to design your panels.
