I usually get my tubes from the Tube Depot (tubedepot.com). They allow selecting high-gain and low-noise options, among other things, but don't carry Shuguang tubes, so I need to shop elsewhere.

    Thanks

NessTone tube sales. They have earlier production shuguang and some older run Russian Mesa tubes for cheap.

Youre in the market for Shuguang? Pretty sure Weber sells them. Theres some other places too, I'll post here when I remember. Also tubedepot sells Sino which are Shuguang, and Ruby are Chinese I believe from Shuguang. Ebay has a bunch but prices are all over the place, shouldnt cost any more than $8-10 each.

TheTubeStore or Mojotone. Are my top 2 for tubes. Not every vendor has every tube so you do have to shop around to get what you are looking for. Dougstubes, Eurotubes, TAD, Ruby, and others.

The Tube Store does not carry any relabeled tubes, only the originals!

I buy new tubes all over the place depending on what I need. Thetubeampdoctor and thetubestore are good, among others.... also buy from Mesa Boogie for new tubes. Their tubes are very consistent and good culls

For NOS I have a few go-to private sellers who keep pretty good stock.

Also always-on the lookout for old stereos, organs and talkie movie projectors. Sometimes they'll be full of really great old tubes with low hours.

I've got more tubes than I'll ever use. Should unload some of them, but just can't let em go

    Since when?

    SINO/SHUGANG same same.

    https://tubedepot.com/t/brands/sino-chinese

    https://tubedepot.com/products/groove-tubes-gt-12ax7-c-select

    https://tubedepot.com/products/genalex-gold-lion-ecc83-12ax7-preamp-vacuum-tube.

FWIW- I've stopped using them (Tube Depot) as my #1- they charge extra for the noise tests everyone else does for free, which then makes them more expensive 9 times out of 10. Also the last couple of pairs of power tubes I got from them were matched pretty poorly.

Doug's Tubes is great, but he's pretty lean on stock at this time.

Not sure what you mean here, but their "preferred series" tubes are built for them by Shugang/Sino, just like Ruby and TAD. And most of them are the same tubes, just with different labels

E.g.- the 12ax7 preferred series - same as Golden Lion Chinese 12ax7, same as Ruby 12ax7a7HG, and TAD 7025.

Not the same, the Preferred Series is there own design built by someone else of course. Ruby, TAD, etcs are tubes built and sold by another brand, such as maybe JJ as an example, that are hand selected and then they put their name on it. Ive spent some time on the phone with the Techs at The Tube Store and they explained whos making what and what tubes simply have a different name on them. You can call and ask them yourself for more detail then I can remember.

Go buy yourself all the 12 ax7s I mentioned above and get back to me. I've owned them all.
