I hear ya, just personal preference. Jefferson may have been a better, more season sitcom guy for sure, wasn't really comparing those two guys. I just meant that it was around that time that the rest of the show and writing really slipped, I mean like cartoon level dumb where in the first few seasons the writing and characters were still raw and they felt real, they said and did things that seemed closer to what a crazy family like that might actually do, I loved it. But the later seasons were way to corny and over the top, too juvenile, like they assumed everyone watching was a caveman when earlier it was raw, daring and crazy...but somehow smarter and more believable.
that show there was the sole savior of the Fox channel.

Agreed...hell, if I remember right, MwC actually put FOX on the network map, not just saving them. NFL football too...but MwC was a groundbreaker for sure. I recall certain groups around the country being outraged and calling for its cancelation even (feminist groups, women with weight issues, etc).

Fox was failing big time. couldnt get ANYTHING to go right. every plan they had failed.
so the board put everything they had and total focus into MwC and it was at that tie the biggest hit to
come on tv. all around. look it up. its amazing last chance hail Mary story.

I think it might have been when Steve left ? And he tried to save the turtles , and the news report at the end ..
That had me in stitches .

I wasn't watching much TV when the show started so I got familiar with it watching reruns later. I like the later episodes fine. I always just took it as dumb humor and it kept making me chuckle til the end.
Maybe I'm just a caveman, lol

at the same time, they also had the Simpsons...

double debauchery.

Simpsons were huge back then.
And it's still on. That's pretty amazing.

I always liked the guests on MWC. Anthrax, BB King, Pam Anderson, Traci Lords, Sam Kinison, Father Guido Sarducci,
I know I'm forgetting many.
I liked Milla Jovovich as the exchange student.

Oh yeah, it was definitely still okay in the later years, I just didn't find it as funny as the earlier/Steve seasons..but yeah, even later in its run it was still better than a lot of the other sitcoms running at the time...we all loved those main characters I guess.

That Sam Kinison double episode story was classic! I like when he talked about having friends over (in heaven) for pool party's and he'd have Moses part the water when the new guys used the diving board! LMAO!

Another fun guest was Peter Noone - I remember my dad loving that episode since he was apparently a big fan (I had no idea who the hell he was lol)

Another interesting guest was eventual porn star Teri Weigel...she was pretty hot in her appearances (!) but didn't go far and eventually was spit out the bottom of the porn world looking like death, hell, I'm surprised she even survived that era.
