Hi.
I'm about to buy an JCM 800 2210 from 1987 and wan't to use it for some Hard Rock/Metal stuff.
I need a cab, I want to choose speakers that will make low end as tight as possible.
The easiest to get are G12T75 1960A or V30 1960AV.
What do you suggest? One of them is good or its better to look for something different?

Only one way to find out which one YOU like better.
There's no magic formula that says this speaker with that amp for the way you play whatever type of music is what you will prefer.
Try them both or you'll never really know.

There is a Marshall cab demo, I listened to it on the Sweetwater site. Low end doesn’t seem to be the issue, all the 4x12’s have good low end. It comes down to how much high end and aggressive mids you want. You lose highs with when you turn up the distortion. The most aggressive mids seem to be come from the Marshall Vintage speakers, greenbacks are darker, less sparkle and a little flatter sounding. The G12t75’s are in the middle and are a little more balanced to my ear.

I will test them out if I only can. I'm after crash laying in bed with broken back so I can't moove to test some gear.
I just want to know what to expect from them. I like some fast palm muted riffs and i want to get some percussive, tight sound. Don't know how to get it, i think that speakers can be important. :D

I don't asking about "good" speakers, just for tight low end speakers :)

Here's a comparison video to watch while you're recovering from the injuries.

Probably some more if you search.
Get well soon!

They were designed around the g12-65.

That is where I would start. BITD I used my 50w 4210? Combo version plugged into 70s, 75s, and 65s cabs. I'm not a fan of that amp series, but it sounded best with the 1265s (not to be confused with creamback 65s)

I’d skip the 65s, which are a great speaker but something more suited for hard rock/earlier metal. 75s, V30s (a mix) or G12k-100s

I have a combo Valvestate 8240 with Celestion G12T, not sure what wattage thery are, but it says 4ohm each.
I think about testing my 2210 on them.
Can you tell me something about that speakers?

valvestate “should” be 75s if I’m not mistaken. Shouldn’t be hard to check the labels on the speakers in back of the cab.

Labels say G12T and nothing more :D
Just 4ohms :D
I found that they might be G12T - 100s

I may have two options to buy. 1960AV, or JCM900 1960B with V30 and G12T75 in X pattern.
What do you think? My understanding is that speaker mix will give fuller sound, also B cab seems more bassy and fuller than A cab which is brighter and less bassy. But the other side is V30 seems better for me.
Mix on B cab or V30 only on A cab. Hmm...

Late 1980s 2210/2205 amps have a
more or less pronounced midhump to
their sound.

I'd try a speaker with less focused mids
to counteract this.

I tried about every british style speaker WGS makes and really like the Invaders. I also like the Green Beret and the Reaper but didn't care for the rest.
