All I recall was that it sounded leagues away better than my 900DR did.I remember seeing a blue 6100 in a guitar shop when they were current. I was 16 at the time, and couldn’t get a sales guy to plug me up. Still have never played one.
I have both. A '93 DR 4501 and a '97 LM6100. I agree the LM6100 sounds way better, much more warmer. But the DR it's good too with an EQ in the loop. The LM has better cleans of all my Marshall's. I love lead channel too but I think it's more rich and complex on my TSL100.All I recall was that it sounded leagues away better than my 900DR did.

Did you polish that ? Or do they come stock pimped?Yes a LM6100. He's using crunch channel. There are many lovers on the LM6100. Some people say it's the best Marshall ever made. The LE6100 (limited edition) looks gorgeous!

The LE amps are amps hard to find even in Europe. Some of them has moded lead channel like LM lead channel specs. It's an easy mod. I would love have a LE too but I'm a poor boy. I can't afford It.I desperately want a 6101LE. I don’t even know why, I’ve never played one. They just look like totally rad cubes of sonic destruction.
Yeah, I think in my case the desire is mostly because of the rarity. It wouldn’t be a smart purchase, because I wouldn’t be able to take it anywhere to play it. There are only 500 of the 6101LE, so I would want to keep it pristine. I really don’t need a 100 watt amp that stays at home, even if it is a cool collector’s item. It's a 100W amp that you can use at low volumen thanks to his features. Even at 100W mode It sounds great playing at bedroom levels. Both models are very underrated amps IMHO. They can sounds like a JTM's, plexi's and JCM800 prety close good. Obviously the real thing it's the real thing.Yeah, I think in my case the desire is mostly because of the rarity.
