Hey everyone, hopefully it's ok to post this question here.
I'm trying to figure out how much this amp is worth.

It's a 100w JTM Super PA, not sure of the year but possibly late 60s.

It's had some work done, but I have the original parts, and that's just a sticker on the front.

Someone is coming to have a look at it to possibly buy, and I have NO idea what to ask for or accept.

Any and all advice appreciated.

Thanks!

I have no clue what the amp is worth, but I'd suggest getting an "expert" opinion before selling. I've seen some crazy prices on amps of this type, and the asking prices are all over the place. To sell it, without doing your due diligence, could result in selling it at too low a price.

Do a search on this forum. I think I saw someone just got a 50 watter for like $3k recently. His was in better cosmetic condition than yours.

Value may depend a lot on condition, and I'm not talking about that silly sticker.
Internal component originality, repair replacements, and modifications will have significant impact on what it's "worth".
Post some gut shots.

oh and look in the Vintage section, that would have been a better place to post this I think.

It depends where you are, I’d say around the £2500/£3000 mark(which is around 3k/3.7k in USD) More or less depending on originality, how fast you want to sell it, if you can be bothered shipping it etc etc

Best of luck with the sale

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure who to ask in my locality for an expert opinion. I'll see if anyone on here has an idea and if not I'll see if I can find someone. :)

Yeah, I appreciate that. I'm not sure how this would rank in terms of condition.
I did take some photos of the internals in the album above. Are there other elements I should photograph?

Thanks! At least that gives me a ballpark idea of what it's worth.

It's a black flag. No expert, but I think those are usually circa 67 and considered some of the most sought after amps. I wouldn't sell it too quickly without educating yourself about it first.

Thanks for the info. How would I find out more, value etc.?

It looks great in the pics you took but seeing the internals means pulling the chassis and showing it's innards, wiring, components and whatnot. And, if you post in the vintage section, you will get more results, there are some real knowledgeable guys that only frequent there.

To give you an idea of prices being all over the place, and why I suggested you do your due diligence, here are just three 50w listings...

I’ve never seen that Marshall Jtm50 Super PA head that marshallmellowed posted a couple of posts back.

Man that thing looks ridiculous, (not in a good way), bordering on comedic looking.

Gut shots needed of transformers and board.
Prices are all over the place.
I sold a 65/66 50w last year in A1 restored condition for much less than some of those on reverb.
A true collector will run away with all those extra holes on the back. A player might be interested but how much it has been hacked around and ‘improved’ with modern parts will be a significant factor.
