Loved that movie growing up, so sad, possibly a bit too homophobic but some classic lines and bands in there
I don't know what punk is or I don't have a description, but if you want to see the TSOL guitar from the first EP, look at at my avatar - I bought it from them in 1980.
What is punk music? I briefly pondered that question once, but quickly lost interest in its importance.
I've always thought of certain elements of punk being specific to the society and era of its origination, so they don't necessarily make sense out of it. But I like its spirit, and I also like the music. Could do with a little less self destruction though.. I've listened to pretty much everybody over the years, but some favorites are: From newer guys I think these have the spirit (not punk, but.. ) Best think about punk for me is how it influenced and opened the road for other styles of music that I enjoy more, such as industrial, noise, a lot of metal music,.. styles that are more about the music and less about politics or lifestyle.
As I got older, mid to late 20s, I started to realise punk showed us lots of problems but gave us no real solutions. Then as I hit my early 40s I realised no one else really seems to have any working answers, so have been falling back into punk for the last 5 to 7 years. Not looking for political answers but just enjoying it for what it is.
