Completing my guitar tool box. Got a proper notched straightedge and have done a couple level/recrowns. Need a better crowning file and proper nut files. They ain't cheap, but I've got 4 good playing cheaper guitars that I want to turn into great playing cheaper guitars.

Right now, nada.
Just no need.
This last year I got a new Allen and Heath SQ 5 board for the band, a few LED 4 unit light bars, a new 1960 Les Paul Historic Reissue, an LTD EC1000 with piezo, a heavy duty SKB Les Paul road case, case for the board....
Gigging with it all and happy. Can't see anything I really want.

Other than in July a old backorder is coming in so I have another Sustainiac guitar. Schecter Hellraiser C1.

At this point I can honestly say that there's nothing I want very much. I'm over-equipped and have the capability to create most any tone I can imagine.

But if someone with deep pockets was going gift shopping for me and asked me for a list of guitars or amps I might want, I could think of a few things. A nice well maintained A/DA MP-1 preamp. A Mesa Studio or Quad preamp. Maybe a Mark IIC+ loaded coliseum head, just to say I owned one. And a Fractal Axe-FX III.

Only the MP-1 would be low enough in its price range that I'm giving any serious thought to going out and getting one.
I *almost* bought an MP-1 locally a few months ago, he wanted like 400 and it was dead mint. I see so many molested units it’s crazy. But… I need more sounds like I need a hole in my head.

If that MP-1 is still available in your local area, (probably not but why not ask?) then I'd go for it right now. PM me please if it's still available, and connect me to the seller or maybe you could be my go-between and make a little money for your effort.

The Ironman will be hear tomorrow but I'm still thinking about a Studio 20 head . Having a Origin 20 and a Friedman JJ Jr. and others, I'm still thinking a Studio 20 of some kind would be nice to have. Guess I will be wading through the Studio threads to try to figure out what on I should get. Leaning toward the Plexi.

Here's my current wish list:

Given the current ridiculous gear prices, and the fact that a week's worth of groceries for the two of us now costs in excess of $300 where we live.
I know what you mean brother, I live alone so I can cut back on things like food so I can still afford gear. I'm becoming a minimalist real fast!

I added a few pedals from my personal “wish” list and a Katana Artist combo amp (not pictured). Didn’t realize I was building a nice grab and go set up lol. My wife thinks I want to start/join a band…

How do you like the Artist? Have you compared to the regular one at all?

Totally dig it!!! I’ve compared it to my MKll 50 combo both loaded with the same JCM800 patch and there is a very noticeable difference between them. The Waza speaker is the real deal and I would love to replace all my speakers in my Marshall cabs with them, but damn they are pricey. Boss says the Artist is “tuned” differently than the other amps in the line and from what I can tell it’s no joke. The amp has a lot of punch and feel even at low volumes. Clean channel I’ll use with the Bogner and Mesa pedals for righteous familiar tones. The Tone Studio is a must if one wants to fully experience what the Katana line can do otherwise one is only getting half the experience if that. Truth be told, I thought the Katana MKII 50 was a good all around basic amp, nothing special, until I used the Tone Studio and also purchased some patches. Game changer right there, I fell in love with my little Kat 50 and decided to get the Artist when it was on sale. These amps are not intended to be giant killers or tube amp replacements, they are simply versatile, convenient, reliable workhorses that in 100 watt versions, will handle anything for most players. If I was still gigging, this would be all I would need, and I’m not even kidding…

Thanks for that review!
I like my Katana 100 MkIi for rehearsals and perhaps small venue. I like that it is lightweoght and portable but I do have other options for that. Debated trying one from the dealer to compare but they are still out.
Maybe upgrade to the Artist. Likely better than upgrading speaker in the 100.
Cheers

Yeah, I’d get the Artist and then run them in stereo if that’s a possibility, I know 2 Artists can be run in stereo. Funny thing is, I’ve already been thinking about replacing the stock Boss speaker in my Kat 50 with a Waza speaker!!! It costs as much as the amp did new!!! Perhaps down the road, not a necessity at the moment lol

I Would love to mod mine or find the right Les Paul. One where the neck pickup is back toward the bridge a couple frets . Maybe more like sg pickup position. So the 24 fret harmonic is more like fender (if that makes any sense lol). Also where the pickups behave more like Fender pickups with regards to playing rhythm/chord playing. I see fillterton options. Oh well keep it for what the do which it is great for that. I don’t feel like creating a nightmare on nice Les Paul lol. Just a pipe dream and probably a bad one .

Any properly working old pre mid 67 T1217 Celestion or t1281‘s . As long as the have the doping on both sides . Sp444 or h1777 would be great.

Some nice recording gear for messing around with . Probably what I really would like to get . Not gear but stress free time to play.
