What are some of your favourite pickups and why?

    Yeah, it’s twangy... also note the Thornbuckers aren’t the type of PAF clone would drive on the front end of your amp, but they do snarl when you hit the notes hard... I thought they were more close to the Mojotone 59 clone which I used to have...

    My favorite would have to be the dimarzio PAF Pro.
    The pickup sit right in the middle of a hot output and a vintage low output model.
    Plus i like that it is very even in EQ.
    There is not a style i cannot play using them. Jazz,country,metal,rock,blues,fusion,etc
    In high output pickups the dimarzio Super distortion is my go to because it is a tone icon and has been on more records than any other pickup.
    It is the archetype Hot rod replacement pickup.
    Most think the duncan JB is the most used but the super d has been around longer and just about everyone has owned one.

    It's a nice pup, wish I still had the guitar I had it in, Japanese Kramer Focus. I was more into trying to get a big stereo sound, when I should have been focused on my guitars.
    I do remember when I installed it , how it was so nice and clear, with a pleasing tone.
