Bottom section of BB glued in...

I decided against the wavy bits on the baffle support. I needed it to blend with the dyed curly sublayer so curly maple it is...

Cut the sides with a 2° slant on the backside. This time I cut them together to minimize flexure on the baffle...

I glued in the bottom section before I realized I would need to dye the exposed section. Luckily that is fix able. The top and sides not so much so they were sanded to 220 and then dyed on the sublayer side. I haven't decided what I'll do with the front and sides surrounding the baffle.

    Top and bottom glued in...

    Side baffle supports glued in...

A whoops with the dado blade to be repaired or at least made less noticeable...

The top lines sorta match up - the bottoms will have to fend for themselves...

Russ, dig a little more out of the boo-boo.
If the top of the patch lines up, and the bottom goes to the end of the finger joint, no one will ever see it. :yesway:

Best of all they are self adjusting - you can tweak the fine 'hold' but no more turning of the bolt. Just clamp 'em on.

Sanding time - one of my favorites as the project begins to emerge from the chaos.

First to deal with the faux fingers...

    Sanded...

    Other side rounded...

    All edges rounded...

I plan on dyeing the baffle frame blue as well. I'm also pleased that the cab is square. The back side isn't all on one plane but I'm going to live with it.

Ah yes, that has to be one of the most satisfying tasks of woodworking. :)
Nothing like the thrill when you first see everything is flush, flat and tidy and you first get a glance of how the finished piece will look like.
I like the blue color and I'm looking forward to the finished product .

EVM12L as I really like them for 1x12 cabs with 1959s and 2203s.

Great choice, probably the best speaker ever made with this kind of power handling

The overall of the cab is 24" - I'd have to go much taller to accommodate that. The size is based on Zilla's Fat Baby 1x12. I built a walnut version last year and I prefer it to the TL806 cab EV designed for the EVM12L.
