I'm about 1 year into Marshall Amps. I did my research and for what I play I'm leaning to any of these 2 Marshall models. JCM 2000 OR Modern Vintage 100 or 50 watt head versions. Reverb is very important due that I don't use pedals! Hopefully in mint or very clean head.

    Any leads much appreciated!

    Thank you!

Do you have the DSL 50 or MV 50 for sale? Shipping is easy. Just bubble pack and double box! I've shipped over 20 years never an issue!

    Lance,

I did! Today I purchased a mint 2007 Modern Vintage 50 Watt head in purple tolex for $500 from a studio on
Sunset Blvd here in Hollywood Ca! The owner/producer said he had no need for amps, he's all digital,
so he let go this one owner! Now a JCM 2000 50 Watt Head! A 100 watt maybe!

    I'm happy!

I was just about to warn you off the DSL 100. They can be problematic. It's not an amp I'd buy for myself. I've got one on the bench right now being repaired, and it's been pretty stubborn.

Same warning applies to the DSL 50. Same preamp board, same problems.

I find that the more I learn about modern Marshalls, the more models I learn to avoid.

The ones I like are the ones that don't use digital circuitry for switching. It pretty much boils down to that.

Beware any amp with more than 12 knobs on the front panel.

Now, regarding your reverb requirement....let's be honest and just admit that Marshall's attempts at adding reverb to an amplifier rarely yield noteworthy results.

Nobody buys a Marshall to get a surf reverb sound, you know?

You will be far better off to get a good reverb effect unit and put it in the amp's loop. I don't use pedals, either, but I do use rack effects, reverb, delay, and chorus, mostly.

Congrats! That I truly a wonderful amp. The key is to set body and detail how you like them. The other controls are for fine tuning.
