    Hi there,

I am trying to decide between two 2x12” speaker cabs for my new JVM-1 Head. If you would like to briefly explain your choice, even better. If, also, you feel strongly about a different choice of Marshall cab, please feel free to share your opinion.

Which one do you think will be better for playing/recording classic and hard rock, at home?

    1. The 2061CX, closed-back, slanted cab is rated at 60 Watts, 8 Ohms, with two Celestion G12H-30 speakers, with a useful angled top speaker.

    2. The JVMC212, semi-closed-back, straight cab is rated at 140 Watts, 16 Ohms, with one Celestion G12 Vintage and one Celestion G12 Heritage speakers, the same ones that are used in the more powerful JVM combo amps.

    Cheers,
    Gianni

If you can find one the 1965a or b 4x10 cabs with original Celestion G10L-35's are amazing little cabs that have a 4x12 feel but are nice and light at 24 inches by 24 inches square. The 2061CX is maybe an inch bigger all 'round so very comparable in size. They were made in the 80's but I still see them around from time to time. My JVM1 loves my 1965b!

Looking for something I don't remember what.
I have the same speakers as the 2061cx in a 1922 2 x 12 and it sounds great with all 3 of my one watt amps. :yesway:

Thank you all very much for your input and votes so far.

Rather difficult to base my decision on a 4-3 poll result, but after quite a bit of online reading I may have just come up with the deciding factor in my choosing a speaker cab for the JVM-1 Head, and started a new thread about it. Please, have a look to see if you can offer some insight here too.

6-3 for the 2061CX. Well, that’s a bit more like it!

I received the JVM-1 Head yesterday, and this morning took it to the Marshall distributor’s music store, where I got to play it through a few different cabs, and ended up ordering the 2061CX. I’m picking up a factory-fresh one tomorrow. It was 594€ (if ordered online) but got it for 549€, in 3 interest-free monthly payments on my credit card (622€ at Thomann!). I can’t wait! :D

Thank you all very much for your help!
