Eddie was it in his prime. What a musician!!! Have a listen to Eruption at 29:30.

We're in stage 4 lockdown for another 5 weeks here in Victoria, 8:00 to 5:00 am curfew, we can't travel further than 5 k's from our homes unless its to go to work.. most shops have closed except for Grocery stores, food etc.

So what better time to catch up on some bootlegs and desk mixes...

Is he still alive? Wasn’t he getting some kind of life saving treatment in Europe?

His solos on those first 4 albums are still not easy to play. Some of the sounds he gets are like wtf! Was that! I’ve been playing for over 40 years and when I went back and started paying more attention to figuring out his solos I figured this will be easy I’m pretty accomplished now lol nope . Still figuring that shit out lol

yes he is. a lot of folks and including those born late in the game dont get Ed.
they have always had what Ed gave us and the aftermath. they dont know about the times before Ed
or setting around waiting to read what he did next. it was amazing times.

this is an excellent point. Back then before social media we waited with great anticipation for the next VH record because he was creating technique and sounds we had not heard until that point. It was like what the f””k is Eddie gonna come up with next?. We also waited for the handful of guitar magazines to bring us interviews with him. There was also so much misinformation about him and his gear that a lore about what he actually was doing was born. Being there as kid guitar players we were amazed and wanted to know about everything he did. Being that there was no Youtube we rarely got to see videos of him playing. We went to see him live so the lore continued. It was a great time to experience that era.
