I’ve been running low on pre amp tubes. Can’t order any and needed some 5881 for this Tweed Bassman I just built.

Finally found some. Offered $100 and they took it.

Yep, I’m seeing prices like $46-$60 per tube. Absolutely crazy. I’m going to pull my JJ’s out of my amps and put these in their place lol

You did pretty good with that tube score . Considering the stupid high prices and scarcity lately . Hope this crappy situation gets better and corrected soon . Whenever I get a new amp , whether its tubes are good or not , I like to order a full new set and keep the ones I pull as spares . Bugs me that I cant do this simple task at this time , grrr !

I threw that Telefeunken in V1 of my 1987x recorded the jj before and after. Huge difference.

That one I can barely read is an Amperex I don’t believe it’s a bugle boy but holy crap look at that price.

I think it was a fair price, maybe even good for all of those. Antique Electronic Supply was doing $23.00 per tube for 5881 Tung-Sol Reissues before Putin dropped a shit on the world. About $52.00 for matched pair, and the lowest price for 12AX7 was about $13.00/1. (6*13)+52=130: you paid $100! That is pretty good for these times IMO

Prices never drop so in the long run it will be a steal.

Don't sell those EI's short, I swapped the EI pre & power tubes out of my DSL401 & it was never the same.
