    Saw this.

Thought @Ken Underwood might be interested...

...not to buy it, but just to see it. Historic piece of old-school Marshall

I take it from reading all the comments here that you do not know why the name NARB was used?

I would like to see this guy get $110,000 for a re-branded Marshall head which is just what it is. It's not going to happen.
Even $10,000 is a big reach.

It was used because Marshall had a distribution deal, and couldn't call any products that it sold independently "Marshall."
If they wanted to sell more product they had to use a different name; "Marshall" name badge was locked up in contracts they had sold the rights to use the Marshall name.

So they used "Narb," "Park," etc... instead.

Ah yes sir you are totally correct, they regretted signing that contract with Rose-Morris and that was the only way at that time they could get around the export market.

The name today has been sold to a Canadian guy who reproduces, and i might add very well indeed, replicas of the original NARB amp. The sad thing is that Marshall never had the decency to ask Ken`s family, they just went ahead and done it, this has upset them very much considering Ken only passed away last year

It seems as only a couple here do, Rose-Morris had them totally stitched up and was not a good time for the company.

The japs love western things. Rebadging products is just another marketing scam. It is to bad Marshall had to that route

At the time they had no option, they found a loop hole and used it.

Just like @Amadeus91 mentioned, it was due to contracts and ways to get around them for other sales.

A lot of great products get tanked because of hedge fund owners take over company’s. The U.K. gov was not much better to set it up that way. If you make a great product then sell it
