Dave was one of the best..But Robert Plant could blow both him and Paul outta the water back in the day!

So could Roger Daltrey or Paul Rodgers.

    you're not making much sense...

    Dave's always been his #1...

I'm not sure what makes him a douche, any more, or less, than he was already. I can't say that he ever was. Sure, he always put on a persona, but, that was what the band called for.

I'm not sold on his current state of performance, but, other than that, I don't have anything negative to say about him.

Like Plant, I think he's gone way beyond his prime. but...

you can't take away from what they did, in their early days.

Man , you guys just dont get Dave .......:lol:

i said: who really does besides Dave? my opinion, he was a good singer and song writer.
but since he resurfaced after Vegas and his EMT stint hes been a douche and full
of himself. hes his #1 fan.
how the hell does that not make sense?

anybody else think this statement doesnt make sense?

Well, not to speak ill of the dead but Eddie was quite the DB himself at times. I always enjoyed DLR--he seems to be comfortable in his own skin which is a trait not many in the public eye have.

Not sure why anyone ever has an issue with someone capitalizing on their own accomplishments. If you think someone has lost their edge and don't want to see 'em don't. They thankfully don't judge me and tell me I shouldn't play live, why should I them?

way beyong just like Gene and Paul and many many others.
makes ya wonder if they are doing it for fun, attempt to grab some cash,
or seeing if they still have it. or, they think they still have it and nobody has
been brave enough to tell them the truth.
kinda ironic that after Gene DLR throws in the towel

DLR is throwing in the towel due to advice from his doctors.

I think they did it for fun, money, AND to give the fans what they have wanted.

And no, it was mostly Sammy fans going after Dave because of his voice. REAL DLR fans were happy to see him.

    So there.

Rick, here's what's happening: you genuinely feel all the things you said, but that's just one side of your opinion. The other side of your opinion is that there's a lot you actually do like about Dave, but the problem is you voiced the side that caused some rebuttle, and now you're stuck in the position of having to defend that side of your opinion, when what you really want to do is figure out how to balance it out by switching to your other opinion. But that's difficult because now you're in this mess. See how that works? Meh, happens all the time. Just ignore what you said earlier and all the rest, and go right into talking about the things you like about Dave, and the rest of the forum will just follow. Like the Pied Piper kind of effect.

Update: I'm not sure who I'm addressing this to right now, so if it's not Rick then someone else take it.
