    Howlin' Wolf...

funny how many people cover his songs, & even songs of others, when they do, they cover a particular song, but rob main riffs from others.

This one is called Don't Laugh At Me. The riff is used for covers of Killin' Floor. Listen to the lead part...

but, then, for the most part, Killin' Floor, the rest of the song is very similar, besides the vocals..

of course, people are familiar w/ the Hendrix uptempo version & Zeppelin's Lemon Song version...

Wolf is the true father of hard rock
^When the Dark Lord got word I'd said that , he was quoted as saying,"He's absolutely right ." (In his own inimitable soft spoken sorcerer voice)

Can't have Wolf without Hubert Sumlin
Hubert was playin all the badass riffs on all the badass guitars before anybody . Wolf actually ended up adopting Hubert and guarded him like a diamond

I got to know Hubert at some point and was lucky enough to be on a few gigs with him
He played one of my Marshalls ....I'll never wash it :)

is he the guy in the OP, playing that surf guitar? & the riff being discussed?

I saw a video, where Muddy was playing electric guitar. He started the video saying how much he hated electric guitar & that playing it wasn't blues...

I didn't notice a bass player, but he played the bass line on acoustic.

Jimmy broke a string, so they did this impromptu jam w/o him...

Gotta throw Blind Lemon in here. He was pretty much my first "blues" go-to in the mid '90s when I started to get into it. He plays great, but his voice just soars.

Many have covered this one and I'm sure you all know it ...
