I winterized my RV. Chain sawed a pine tree. Cleared debris/shrubs in yard. Helped my wife with a craft show. My boss is pissed that I didn't work this weekend cause I had personal things to do.
I work split weeks, so my "weekends" are only one day. And I spent that day on the couch, with movies on the TV and guitar in hand.
Satur-Dee I worked, came home... watched a movie with the mrs. Made dinner. Played a bit on the 6 string twanger.. today, secured black out curtains into the wall. Straightened up around the house... buzzed the back of the Mrs hair, wife trimmed my hair... played a bit on the guit-monster... made dinner. Oh yeah, drank some "grape drank"... hanging out with the mrs. as I type. A very relaxing weekend. In between all that fun I did stuff.. like change the registration sticker on the car... sweep leaves.. wash and fold clothes.. lol. Get me back to work!!!!!
Jammed with newly rewired/pupped LP Trad, Got drunk, Filled MIDI orders, Got drunk again, Took a shit, Stayed drunk, Went to bed, Woke up, Took a shit of Biblical proportions, Went to food store bought food and BEER, Got a buzz, Cooked food for the week while getting drunk, Shit again, As you can see there is a distinct pattern here..............
Helped my dad trim down a bush at his house yesterday. Went to bed around midnight, woke up an hour later with my wrist tingling from the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Got up, went downstairs poured a shot of whisky and wrote a verse for a song I'm working on. Three hours and three shots later, went back to bed and slept for about 5 hours. Today, dealt with the fallen leaves, went out and did a bit of shopping. Off to a funeral tomorrow morning, so hopefully an earlier night tonight.
Took my bird dogs, Lilly and Hank, out for a test run this morning before leaving for South Dakota and some pheasant action on Tuesday.
Today. Got up. Took shower. Wife got up and made coffee while I went out for Sunday paper. Read paper while drinking coffee. Made eggs and toast for Mrs and me. Surfed web (MF) while Mrs. showered. Received incredible .. Played loud guitar while Mrs. shopped for groceries. After she got home we had nice soup lunch. Napped. Got up and she took me shopping. Bought myself some new winter MC gloves. She suggested checking out a new brewery, which we did. Went shoe shopping, didn't see what I wanted. Took the long way home listening to car radio while she surfed on her phone. Cracked open a nice German Octoberfest and watched "Woodsongs." Excellent episode featuring EmiSunshine and the Rain. That girl has a 3 octave range and knows how to use it. Meanwhile, Mrs cooked an excellent dinner. Ate wonderful dinner. Now I am typing stuff on the computer. I forgot what I did yesterday, but it was good. Weekends are good.
My guitar building gun buddy came up from Dallas for a couple of days and we went to Jeffries Wood in south Knoxville. Almost walked out woodless until the owners - who know I'm a curly maple fan - told me they were unloading some wormy curly maple. Boy did they - 120"x13"x2" slab of lusciousness came home with us. Now I need a bigger band saw. Then a gunshow, craft fair and some antique shops - his wife is a cut glass fan - where I saw some interesting soaps named for brews made by Calfkiller Brewing - a local bunch. Then continued to work on a sapele chest of drawers. Russ
I've not seen maples listed as quarter sawn - like I have oak. Maybe a smarter wood guy can chime in. Russ
My gf suckered me into a 14 mile hike saturday on the Pinhoti trail (alabama) with some of her friends - it was horrible ( ). Seriously, I love hiking, it's a nice alternative to running (or even biking) and the scenery was amazing, not to mention most of my buddies are not in shape enough to hike that distance through mountain terrain so I jumped on the chance to go and had a blast.
Almost got over the Vertigo I’ve been dealing with the last week n a half.. it’s like a free drunk.. I’ve been hammering my Pentatonic n diatonic scales hoping the Vertigo will open a pathway to my brain that will allow me to excel.. No magic yet but at least I can make it down the stairs!!! WOOOOO!!
Oooh...friday saturday and sunday l did the same thing. Up at 4:30 start work in a factory at 7...12.5 hrs later drove 30 minutes home. Got a 36 hr work week done in 3 days. Now l get 4 off
Shopped to feed my new knife addiction. It's really gotta stop though. These things can quicky beat you up just as much as guitars can.
Opening weekend of rifle season for deer was this past weekend and my old lady has never been. Saturday morning was a bit chilly, but she's a trooper. Didn't bag anything this weekend, but it's a long season.
