Any of you folks play video games? What system do you have? What are your favorite games? (past and present)

We have a Nintendo switch. Its an awesome system. I got it because I like Nintendo exclusive titles (Mario, Zelda, metroid, ect)

Me and my girlfriend love to play Mario kart. She whoops my ass every time.

We have a big screen TV, its 75" and a bitching surround sound system and big sub woofer. It makes gaming so much fun!

I like to download the classics to. Playing the original super Mario Brothers on a 75" is so cool considering i grew up playing it on a 12" tv

I've recently gotten into gaming on my phone too. I have the note 20. I love gaming on the go. It's thousands of free games in the play store.

The Nintendo switch is neat too because it's basically a tablet with a docking station. You pull the tablet out and snap the controls onto each side and play on the go. When your ready to play on the TV you just detach the controls and dock it.

My first gaming systems were the atari 2600 and the Nintendo entertainment system

Mario cart rocks. Crash Bandicoot racing is badass too.

We have a PS4, PS3, and Nintendo Switch. Probably an older system or 3 lying around somewhere. With the exception of a few family games of Mario Party, I've not touched them for the last 16 months. However, the Gran Turismo racing series has been my favorite since the original PlayStation. Before that, it was Phantasy Star 2 on the old Sega Genesis.

We have all the PS generations, an NES and a Switch. My wife, son and I all game, but primarily play Apex Legends right now.

For retro games, I love Twisted Metal 2, Sacred 2 and Kinetica.

We also play a handful of other games over the years, and my kid loves Fortnite, and has recently gotten us into Fall Guy, but Apex is king of the hill atm.

Big fan of Nintendo Switch. Mario Kart, Smash Ultimate, and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are my favorites, but it has a ton of great games.

Other than the Switch, I mainly play on PC. I've played Counter-Strike semi-competitively for many years, although, I no longer play CS. I play a lot of Half-Life games, Left 4 Dead 2, Company of Heroes 2, and a lot of VR stuff with the Valve Index.

I've also got a SNES, Genesis, and NES with a Sony BVM for retro gaming. Retro gaming and collecting was basically my hobby prior to starting to learn guitar. This is much cheaper, believe or not :)

Mainly a PC gamer these days, when time permits - World of Warcrack, Diablo 3, Civilization VI, SWTOR

For consoles, went the way of Nintendo in the early days as my main attraction was Final Fantasy, Zelda, Mario, Metal Gear Solid, that type of stuff. Then Playstation.... one of my all time favorites was a game called Bushido Blade, but yea the PS changed the console world.

I have a PS3(the one that can play PS1&2 games as well) and a PS4. My Playstation is dman983 if anyone wants to "friend" and play some games.

    Nintendo Switch.

Zelda BOTW (no, I'll never finish it. But it's the best game ever made, ever)
Mario Odyssey (finished it, incredible game)
Crash Bandicoot (played it back in the day)
Spyro The Dragon (played it back in the day)
    Mario Cart
Bio Shock (played it back in the day)
Some game where you chase people in the woods all day and talk to some chick on a radio
Doom III (sucks - no online multiplayer, which made that game rule on Xbox)
Animal Crossing (for those times when you need a game to help you sleep)
No racing games, they bore the heck out of me.
    Other games I can't recall.

I do wish I could have Wipeout XL and Disruptor ports.

I don't play very often. I don't have the time or the motivisation.

I also like the 3DS, I have the purple one with the stars.

The Switch needs longer battery life and Bluetooth for headphones, they really need to get those two things up to date.

Microsoft Xbox sucks b/c account requirements.

I will never own another non-handheld console.

I have trouble deciding between instant game downloads and buying cartridges. I like the convenience of downloading and not having to change cartridges all the time, but digital downloads have zero future value, you can't resell them, and you can't get discounts like you can with used cartridges. But again, downloads be much more convenient.

I built my PC for music recording and modern gaming (and porn :p)..ironic thing is, with all the power, I still end up playing vintage video games in my down time way more than the graphic/memory hungry newer stuff, go figure. And it's not really the nostalgia factor either, there's just a certain addictive charm the old games have that new stuff lacks. Don't get me wrong, I love shit like FIFA, Project Cars 2, Mortal Kombat 11, etc on PC with their incred graphics and 4k resoulution...but yeah, mostly when I feel the need to scratch a gaming itch I fire up Commando, Joust, Frogger, Donkey Kong Jr, Burger Time, Punch Out, Karate Champ and many other pixely, sprite based, hand animated nonsense from the dark ages!

Back in the day, I was a video game fanatic. I owned every system from the Nintendo 8 bit forward. I mean EVERY system: Sega Master System, Neo Geo, Atari Jaguar, Panasonic 3DO etc etc. I stopped at the PS3 when life started happening and the thrill started to leave me. Today, I have an Xbox One and a Nintendo Switch. I say the thrill is gone because there are way too many first person perspective shooters and the sports games I loved in my youth, are simply annual rehashes/cash grabs.

I like the Xbox One, but the installation times for games and updates are just ridiculously long. The Nintendo Switch I think is fantastic - great concept and fun games like Mario and Zelda that remind me of why I loved games in the first place, all those decades ago. I can't wait for a new Metroid.

I am seriously considering springing for the PS5 when it comes out later this year. I could use a decent baseball game after being deprived all these years and The Show is as good as it gets.

I'm an old school gamer. My favorite system is the Original Nintendo which I have and play a lot. I also play and love my SNES. But out of the two the Nintendo is my favorite. I have quite the NES game collection. I don't like newer games or systems at all which is why I stick with my Nintendo's. For me it's about the nostalgia of playing the games I played when I was a kid.

Do you have the newer Switch with the "Mariko" chip? It has about twice the battery life of the launch model. And I don't mean the Switch Lite, but the regular Switch that comes in the Red box instead of the old white box. Before, I would get about 2.5-3 hours on Breath of the Wild. With the new Switch, I get 5 hours easily. But, I absolutely agree with you on Bluetooth headphones.

Also, I feel you on cartridges versus digital. I went on physical with the Switch and half regret doing so. Digital is soooo much more convenient, but I'm a slave to collecting physical carts. Switch makes gaming so convenient that I rarely play anything else these days.

If you are a Nintendo fan, I have to say, you have been missing out on so many incredible games from them. I would seriously consider getting a Nintendo Switch. You can play a lot of the NES and SNES classic games on them, as well a ton of amazing new games including Mario, Zelda, Sonic, Donkey Kong, etc. All the classic franchises are still around.
