You're right...how about :
"PRECIOUS beta-male manlets"
Kind of takes the edge off, yes?
Not sure I'm stepping onto this. They've got 5' 11' as no different than Mini Me's height. Cocksuckers.
I get the fun of it, I do. Any venues I play here, if I had to do that because it was so loud, no one can hear drink orders and we either turn down or wouldn't return. Different clubs, different places.
Granted in smaller places I wear plugs cause of the drums.
5' 11' ???? Hell, average height for a man in the USA is about 5'9" ! That would be a lot of manlets.
I read 5' 6" and under but honestly I'll just use it in a general, blanket-statement kinda way, as a super-micro-aggression-trigger-thingy.
Cuz that's just how I am.
Back later....gotta go DIME my AMP.
Must take time out for that. I take it the wife had to make a run out? LOL.
Yea, they're all off on their measurements to seemingly accommodate the women that seem to be getting ...say, ...sturdier and sturdier these days. ....deep voice. They had a pic of two woman dwarfing an average size guy, however, the women had .......deep voices. Clearly not the dude's problem. It's such a bunch of BS because "God makes us all different sizes and heights, you know." LOL, but everyone is. I don't even wanna expose the damn propaganda, but hey had 5'10" a "King Manlet", but still a manlet. The only 100% safe ground was 6'2" and 6'3", or you still "had issues" ...even being taller.
Are you suggesting that "Beta Male Manlets" need 100w amps to compensate for something?
That's a deeeluxe oxymoron, ain't it?
Anyway, to return to a less hilarious but equally interesting subject....
I've got an idea. Why don't we all crank our amps up, get a sound pressure level at about 5 ft let's say. Then take a screenshot of your reading and post it here. Highest reading wins.
Damn right man when I play my JMP's I have the same problem. When I unload a thirty round magazine I have the same similar pleasurable ring!!! Glad you call the co-worker "Jibber-Jabber" for what it is too, most people would have been more BS PC. Most likely some dumbass PC bullshit that should be drowned out with ones favorite music or the sound of small arms gunfire!!!!
Aw hell no. I have absolutely nothing against 100 watt amps. I am married to several actually.
And I don't remember how soy boys and beta male manlets got into the conversation, but I think the terms are hilarious. I'm sure a few of them even have 100 watt amps, and with my blessings.
The point I was making in my OP is that the trend to using lower volume levels more often than not has a detrimental effect on tone and an amplifier's performance in regard to dynamics, response and other aspects.
A few posts later I made an analogy where I said that amplifiers are a bit like steam locomotives, almost like a living, breathing organism. I think of a guitar and amplifier together as a "rig", a single instrument. The further you turn an amp down from its sweet spot, the more you begin to separate the amp from the guitar. You lose the unifying interaction between the two.
And again, the sound can suffer terribly
Trel, this is the best challenge I have ever seen!!! I am gonna buy a decibel meter tonight so I can enter!!!! And no ear plugs!!! My health insurance is current!
Sounds fun ...assuming we all have the tools. What about we get it so loud we draw ear blood to prove we did so? Now that's kickin' it up a notch!
What about we all dime our amps in our driveways at 2:00 AM (since we're up anyway) then see who does NOT report back. We could then gather statistics and maybe prove a theory on luck vs. bad luck, or something?
Damn right now your literally jammin at the higher level!!! And he who gets a noise violation is automatically advanced to the next level. Ear blood gets bonus points too.
Y'all just get the free "decibel X" app. I will post a screenshot. The little blue numbers at the bottom right of the screen are my 2203 in its sweet spot (about 20 feet away)
Where did you get that....fuck man... I just bought a decibel meter!!!!
You sir are a visionary, piecing the very game together in such a fashion. I can't wait to see the unique tally system, character set, and the artwork on the "chance" game cards!
I googled "decibel meter app"
You can just Google "decibel x app" it should pop up. It's a tiny app, it loaded in just a few seconds
Some additional rules:
You rich fuckers with jet airplanes, don't be cheating by holding your meter up to your Pratt and Whitney deluxe turbo jet engine.
Same goes for you dudes with really loud wives.
Let's keep it all on the up and up.
Holy shit! Painfully loud. Do earplugs kill some high end though and tone?
I would presume earplugs at that rate otherwise yikes.
The Etymotic high fidelity earplugs just make everything 20 dB quieter to the person wearing them, but the tonal balance is the same. They don't muffle the sound. I'm telling you, for about 20 bucks they're REALLY worth it.
I do not know what ear plugs would do to the tone and high end content. So it's Yikes for me!
Wow, I was just going to mention that you had said how well you like your earplugs. Isn't it nice when something works as well as it is advertised? Like Rain-X. It's one of the few things out there that does exactly what they claim it does. Amazing.
I might order a pair of those earplugs you are using
