Small (like 1 watt) amps are not meant for a band setting. They're for playing at home or with a few friends or maybe even studio work.

Some of them are really amazing amps.

My bucket list includes a Marshall JTM1H. I want one!

    This is why:

There's nothing about this that sounds like a toy!

Also, be sure to get your WIFE some earplugs! That helps!

While a bit different tonally from less iron, a 20 watter SC is 4dB quieter than a 2204 thru the same cab. Not enough for a band settimg?
They are actually. Not useless at all.

Sometimes I wear earplugs at wok to try and block the crappy pandora play list and the jibber jabber of coworkers. lol
My tinnitus is not super bad. Still very livable. I'll wear earplugs to loud concerts too but I never use them at home. If I play through my JMP at home I notice increased ringing for about 20-25 minutes. I don't have it cranked by any means but it sounds better a bit louder. Probably why I now gravitate to my smaller amps for everyday use.
I don't care for earplugs- kinda like condoms- sometimes in life you gotta use them but it sucks.
    Yes.

It may interest you to know that there is a "performance enhancement" drug that is legal and sold over the counter...in the Ukraine...called Bemethyl.

    I cite:

Bemethyl, also commonly referred to in literature as bemitil, is a synthetic actoprotector which is also antihypoxant (combating conditions of hypoxia), antioxidant, and antimutagenic. Certified in Ukraine as a dietary supplement, bemethyl is commonly used in preparing for international competitions by Ukrainian national sport teams.[1] Bemethyl is formulated as a hydrobromide salt. Its parent compound is 2-ethylsulfanyl-1H-benzimidazole.[2]

    Contents
    Medical uses
    Effects and benefits
Bemethyl is primarily classified as an actoprotector; a synthetic adaptogen with significant capacity to increase physical performance.[1]

Bemethyl also has a positive effect on metabolic processes, allowing adaptation to conditions causing frequent hypoxia, and the obtained effect is long-lasting and also occurs after the end of dosage.[3]

Bemethyl has been shown to preserve both physical and mental capacity in high-altitude, low-oxygen environments, particularly by its effect in helping control excess serum levels of cholesterol and bilirubin, which are known to have negative effects especially during adjustment to high-altitude environments.[4]

Bemethyl has also been shown to prevent permanent hearing loss and facilitate recovery of hearing after mine-explosion trauma, when treatment is initiated immediately after injury.[5]

Note that last part in green. Apparently it's good to take this stuff before running your Marshall wide open and with no ear protection. It'll save your hearing.

    Right on! :thumb:

I might add that the low testosterone levels and sperm counts are also causing low strength levels, as well as laziness..A lot of these wimps either don't have the ass to lug half-stacks around, or else they're just too lazy to do so.

Perhaps it's also the result of spending a childhood playing video games on a computer instead of playing guitar? That'll turn ya into jello and make your balls shrivel up!

"Toxic masculinity"..Damn, I hate that expression! Yeah, lets turn the male of the species into a bunch of spineless pussies..:pissed:

I remember when you got that killer stack. Did you buy extra house insurance, in case you collapse the place? :headbanger:

Yes , I live with it. Not sure exactly which instance caused it but I narrowed it down to a couple of things. My drummer buddy , same thing.

I'm not sure what caused by tinnitus either, but there is quite a list I could choose from:

    Firearms (including 4" .44 Mag)
    Fireworks (incl. Cherry bombs)
    Gas model airplanes (unmuffled)
    Tractors, dozers
Euclid rock quarry haul trucks (the huge ones)
100w Full stacks and ham-fisted drummers
    Hammer drills
    Racing outboard motors
    A Quaker Parrot
    A few wives

An accumulation of all of the above over time causes hearing loss.
