What kind of music do you play?
rock and roll
You should play blues with Jube
5150 is a joke and ditto for the Recto , as I am partial to Marshall
Is there a way to use a Y chord or another way to run the 2 2555X amp heads together ? Also how would I set up the speaker cabs ? I will have to look further into a a/b pedal as well ? With an a/b pedal that would be for switching back and forth from one amp to another ? Which I would want to run them together .
hey Gringo, I'd suggest a high quality A/B/Y Box (either active or passive), where one of the outputs is transformer isolated in order to avoid ground loops when using the two amp heads at the same time. I would under no circumstance use a simple passive Y-cable. You won't destroy anything, but it's just not good practise, because of groundloops and loading your guitar's pickup, what may alter your tone (which is not the case with active pickups).
I have never used such a box, but I hear nothing but the best from Lehle. He makes extremely transparent transformes and is known for this.
Also Radial seems to make very good A/B/Y Boxes. And I suppose the Mesa Switch-Track might be a good solution.
As far as the cabs are concerned: I don't understand the question. If you have two cabs, just connect one to one amp, and you're done (no switching involved and necessary).
If you want to use only one cab, you need a switcher, that switches your amp speaker outputs to the single cab, like the Mesa Head Track or Palmer Tino.
Thank you for your help . I was just looking up Radial Twin City ABY Router pedal and this looks like it will work .
I just ordered a 2555X half stack with the matching 2551AV and got a notification yesterday from Sweetwater about a tentative early October date , so I can hardly wait ! and big thank you to Sweetwater !!!!!!!!!!
The only thing better than one Jubilee is two Jubilees.
I will probably be getting the Radial A/B/Y pedal and when I run both half stacks I can use the same set up on the ohm selection as I do know with my current half stack ? Thus using the Radial pedal everything will be good X 2 half stacks ? There is no way I will be able to purchase and own 2 half stacks and not run them together for twice as much fun and volume and I can't wait to find out what that will sound like (loud ) ?
Yes Sir !!!......just pulled the trigger on a second 2555SL half stack !!
If you meant this one: https://www.radialeng.com/product/bigshot-aby
..then yes, this box will do the job. Just connect your guitar lead to the input, and another lead to amp A, and a third lead to amp B. With the footswitches you can toggle between the two amplfiers (for example if you want one for lead one for clean), or switch it to "Both" and then both amps play.
For the amps and cabs: just use them, as if you would use them alone. Connect one cab to amp A, and the other cab to amp B, choose impedance switches normally.
Having one Jubilee set up for cleans and one for dirt is great. The Jube is a pretty decent channel switcher but the shared EQ and gain make running two the way to get the best cleans and the best dirt.
With the 2555x you can also experiment with using KT88s or other higher headroom tubes in the clean amp, while running EL34s in the dirty amp or the opposite. All kinds of possibilities.
That is a great idea. I have been tempted to try running KT88's in mine just to get the bottom end. I think I like to keep my power section cleaner than most do and get my gain from the pre-amp.
I'm selling my mini silver jube and 2x12 vertical cab. Excellent condition. If anyone is interested please PM here. I'm just outside Glasgow.
I have a pair of 87 (or I guess unlikely but possibly 88) micros in the classifieds.
Hi guys !
Does anyone knows what makes a Jubilee sound woody ?
Mine is a 2555SL and it's one amp that I need to bite myself to stop playing !........chunky fat woodyness and very touch sensitive with the guitar knob .
One thing I've noticed is the lack of ear fatigue compared with other amps I had !
Great amp and tone !
