I took my telescope out last night but it was already too late to see it where I'm at. I'm hoping to catch a glimpse of it tonight.
I've been watching it progress every evening for the last couple of weeks. It was cool watching Jupiter and Saturn appearing closer and closer together each night. I will watch for the next few evenings as they separate, too. I watched the International Space Station cross overhead recently. That was fun. I was surprised at how bright it was--must be all those solar panels.
My followers and I have been waiting years for this. It's time to castrate ourselves, throw on our black Nikes and hit the hay !!!
Missed it last night, family dinner with a guest. Will look tonight. Clear skies here, and not much different than last night, planet alignment wise.
Video footage or it's just another conspiracy. We couldn't see it. Most of the time we have too many clouds here in the Northbeast to view any stellaritorial anomalies. .
Anybody here into telescopes? My wife bought one at Sam's the other day and we used it the first time to see this conjunction. I could see Jupiter and Saturn without the telescope but couldn't find them in the telescope. That thing was a PITA. We did find the moon and it was really cool.. blew me away how cool it looked through the telescope but when it moved out of frame, which doesn't take long at these magnifications, we couldn't find it again. It was to clunky to maneuver so she took it back for a refund. Now we are wanting to get a better one that is much easier to use.
