So much love and so much disdain associated with this man's name and his wiggle stick apparatuses!

For those who like, really like, and love their Floyd Double Locking trems, sign in here. For those who hate it I'm sure you'll chime in too.

I have 3 to yank on- a Schaller Floyd from '91 on my Charvel 475 Deluxe, an Original Edge on a JS1200, and a Lo-Pro Edge on a JS1000. Not my everyday players but they work their way into the rotation. And I don't block mine. Love some flutter and flick tones so they are floating full time.

To me they are worth the effort to set up and maintain.

I have 2 Floyds, a Jazz Master and a Kahler.
I like to palm the bridge when playing and prefer the Kahler to the others.

When I was younger everything had to have a free floating Floyd or I wasn't interested. I even installed a couple on guitars that didn't have one. The set up didn't bother me much as I was pretty experianced with them.

Things that suck about them is the dreaded string break in the middle of a song and bending one string would make another string flat. I'm okay with fixed now but still have a stash of Floyds for when the mood strikes.

Love and hate them for all the normal reasons. Most of my whammy antics can be done on a fender 2 post with locking tuners or my bigs LP and a good nut but it can be fun to occasionally go nuts on a floyd guitar. Just so happens my favorite guitars right now have floyds.

Have more Floyd guitars than I can count. I also have a box of 10+ OFR's in case I buy a guitar with a crappy FR copy.

I have multiple Floyd nut necks waiting for project bodies - 2 of them Fenders. I just bought a Fender 2020 maple Floyd neck to keep for a rainy day.

Are these 10+ OFRs new in box, or loose from various projects? Either way, I like it.

Doing some searching. The amount of information and/or disinformation on the 'net for Floyds over the years is staggering. Germany, Korea, 1000, 5000, Original, Schaller, Gotoh, Ping, Steel, Brass, on and on and on. What a saga!

As I'm a fumble fingered guitarist the only bombing I do is when I play BUT I really like the micro tuners on the bridge - so much I put an FRX on a 82 Standard. I wish FR would build a bridge without the spring system as it would look better on an LP but since I'm not going to buy 10K of them I don't blame them for not caving into my foolish desires.

The worst part about playing a guitar? Reaching down for the FR and realizing it's not there.

The best trem, er vibrato system ever designed. If you know how to set up and maintain them they just friggin work. I do not buy all the BS about how they kill the tone due to the string angle lalala. One of the most sought after tones is EVH's and HE used a Floyd, so................
