Every Saturday night (I have no life).
Yeah, life is over now...
I’m old enough to remember the original Svengoolie.
I think it was Jerry G. Bishop.
Big fan of Ghoulardi, Ernie Anderson in the 60s. Was he the first? Cool it with the boom booms.
Zacherley may have been the first.
This is the kind of stuff Ernie Anderson aired
The prehistoric chicken.
The Black Scorpion was on Svengoolie last night.
It was the typical 1950's low budget sci fi flick.
They ran out of money with The Black Scorpion and had to finish it in a garage.
Loved Svengoolie, ... when I could stay up past 9:30pm
I get a kick out of his show too, gotta admit I'm a sucker for a GOOD vintage monster movie...but most of the time the movies he runs are rubbish and I pass - but man, sometimes he does shows stuff I LOVE...Godzilla, Abbot and Costello, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Thing, etc.
I used to watch Svengoolie, but my cable provider dumped MeTV, so I'm no longer able too.
I grew up watching Dr. Shock's X-Ray Chiller Theatre out of Toledo back in the early 90's. I miss those Saturday nights staying up watching B-movies and cheesy antics.
Did you catch Sven last Saturday night? I was a little surprised. The movie, "Devil Doll" was a bit more adult than the usual Svengoolie fare. It wasn't a great film, but I was very impressed with the cinematography. It was like every frame was an impeccably composed black and white photograph. Much better than the story deserved.
Been ages since I've seen that. I always thought that show was inspired by Creature Feature with Dr. Paul Bearer I use to watch as a kid.
Used to love him in Chicago in the 80s . His song parodies were awesome
On Svengoolie tonight....................
