Have owned the SV20h since 1/2019, paired with a CB-75 into the matching 1x12 cab. Had the 212 cab and sold it off. ALSO running a Fryette PS-2 which I use all the time with it and LOVE it! SV volume is bridged high and low stay on about 5/6. Plenty of OD

Was in Atlanta last weekend and testing an LP and plugged into the SC20h and matching 2x12. I was kind of in shocking. Volume wasn’t loud at all and was really enjoying the tones. Now it’s got me pining for one but I just don’t know if it’s worth having both. I would still run the SC20h into the same cab. Not trying to pair them.

I know some of you have/had both, thoughts? Pros/Cons to having them both? Better off to look at other flavors?

I've often heard people who have both tend to use their SV more. But with that said, I plugged into an SC combo last week at the store and I was like wow thats noticeably different than the SV, although I have a 2204 so I wouldnt need an SC, but they do both deliver something different. :yesway:

Had both. Sold the SV20H and both attenuators, kept the SC20H. Not sorry, no second thoughts.

Pros/Cons?? I like the Fryette so I don’t know if I’d even get rid of that but what led you keep the SC20 or the SV?

I have the SC20H and matching 2x12 cab. Never had the SV20 but with the SC I can get enough of the Plexi style tones to keep me happy. In addition, the SC20 also covers all of the 2203 tones and into metal territory, especially when boosted. And this is all without actually needing an attenuator. Yes, it sounds its absolute best with an attenuator, but with the channel and master volumes properly balanced, EQ dialed in correctly, and a volume pot or volume pedal in the loop (to shave off just enough dB's to keep volume manageable), I can get very close to the ideal tone without an attenuator.

While I was at one point considering also getting an SV, I find that I can get all of the great Marshall tones I need with my SC20H, with the added bonus of it being a MV amp. However, if someone has the extra cash, it would be great to own both of these amazing amps! :applause:

I had both, got the SC20 with matching 2x12 used for a great price, and later I bought the SV20 from Sweetwater. I would normally consider myself a 4-input Marshall guy, but at the end of the day, I liked the SC20 better. I sent the SV20 back. I am still in love with the SC20, it is such a great amp! I feel like it stands up with my vintage 2204 and my vintage 4-input amps. And those amps are GREAT.

I agree with your opinion on the SC20. I've had mine for over a year and I'm still excited every time I play it! For me, it's the best thing Marshall could have done, and I'm glad I waited such a long time for it to become a reality. :)

My buddy John has both , and loves them.
He even brought them over to my house and let me run them for about 2 hours.
If I had the extra cash I would have them both as well.
    Cheers

Pros / cons of owning both?
    Pros - everything.
    Cons - none.
    If you have the budget.
SC doesn't require attenuation and the MV makes it different.
    Enough said!!

    @LPMarshall hack
In my true fashion since I have been here, the SV 20 and an SD1 for a clean boost.
Once again my apologies to the OP
    For the thread derail.
Anybody here is welcome to derail any thread I start, because of my bad habits.
