How so? There are multiple guys in the FB group that have them - I've talked directly with JC about ordering one... hard to classify that as a myth.

I guess you're living under the assumption that each watt cost as much as the other, along a linear scale, when in this case, it's just a tiny bit of copper and steel

A couple guys slapping a few amps together is not proof that prices are not going up across the board is my point.

I bought a 5150III 50watt 6L6 for $1299.00 here, (Calgary, AB, Canada) two years ago. Today it costs $1599.00

At the same time, the Studio Marshalls were $1099.00 here, as I was actually going to buy one, Today, they are now $1499.00

I'm living under no assumptions other than Brands using their name to rip off consumers.
I just don't accept a 20 watt single channel amp is worth $1500 (That's $1200.00 US dollars) in any market.

The thing about a Marshall amp unless it’s channel switching is they can be easily built for the price of the iron + the small parts. However cabs and chassis and faceplates add quite a lot.

They are about $1,500 in the UK at current exchange rates. I bought a Chinese clone and had a Tweed cab made for a fraction of that price, plus it's such a simple amp that I could re-wire it point to point at some time if I really wanted to. They sound great cranked up, but not $1,500 great...

There are more low priced great sounding amps out there now than ever before. I like the fact that there are still some amps made in the US and UK. Labor does not cost the same everywhere and companies are in business to make money.

If you can’t afford them, buy something cheaper, build one yourself or save up.

Other way around here in Europe. For crying out loud, a 65 Deluxe Reverb is TWICE the price of a SV20H for us.
So bottom line: importers. But tbh we've been paying through the nose for decades when in comes to US-made musical instruments, so...

It's worth what people are willing to pay. Apparently many people including myself think they are worth it. I love the Marshall brand, I love the 2 Studio series I have, the Jubilee and SC20. Paid more for the lkmited blue model, but less than I woild for a Mesa Mini Recto. I had one a few years ago and sold it, never bonded well.
These 2 Studios I have are keepers.

If the fire is too hot, get outta the kitchen. Buy what you really want when you can afford it. These are different amps from Peavey etc. I buy things I want, not based soley on price.

May I ask your opinion on the two studio amps. I have the Mini Jub was thinking about getting the SC20. Do they sound similar? What's the biggest difference tone wise? thanks. There's no way to try these amps so one has to ask other who have them what they think.

Business class also teaches don’t compete at the bottom, if you’re selling on price only it becomes a race to the bottom.
