I ONLY use half power mode. Gives it a spongy feel like a variac. With a certain eq ,that's how I get a great VH2 ,wacf, FW tones.

I also like 100w amps, although 20w is about all you really need. It's funny though, sometimes it seems the best sound comes from either 100w or 20w, I'm usually not found of 50w amps. (I do have one I like very much, but it is the first one I have) I find the only difference between 100w and 50w is how full they sound, the 100w is only a little bit louder in most cases. I always run my 100w amps on their lowest power too, 25w on 2 of them.

Cheaper, way more versatile, consistent, better tone, and if you need another it will be the same.

The Ceriatone Jubilee is a great amp but it doesn't sound anything like a Jubilee.

Yeah, I also love the half power mode. It definitely gives it that variac sound that the early Van Halen albums had. It is dark and spongy but also smooth and aggressive at the same time. I use it to get a more Soldano/Mesa vibe when I play Thrash or modern metal tunes. I also found that the rhythm clip mode gives me instant Toys in the attic era Aerosmith tones.

For me, 1. Its all hand wired and wonderfully made with choice of tolex color and ability to customize. 2. The price leads me to be able to afford one C2555x and a lunchbox amp that Ceriatone produces for teh price of one Marshall 2555. 3. I love Marshall but what Nick's offering is a solid product at a great price.

tell me more, have you played them side by side? It's difficult to use Youtube to distinguish tonal diff/characteristics with recording devices not fully capturing sounds as they happen.
    * I don't yet own a Ceriatone so I am not pimping for them but almost everyone who owns one loves it.

Finally someone noticed what I have noticed ,that never gets talked about in regards to early vh tone AND feel. Are you using the 2551 cab? cause I think it adds that's SIZZLE needed with the v 30's.

I am using it with the 2551A and B cab. This amp needs V30s to sound it's best. I have heard good results with greenbacks for certain sounds though.

I have played several Jubilees and the Ceriatone clone. I think the Ceriatone is a great amp but it doesn't have that distinctive sound that the Jubilee is known for. In my opinion it sounds a lot more like a 2205/2210 than it does a Jubilee. That isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I also always run my 2555x on full power even at low to medium volume , it just sounds clearer on 100

I assume your in australia so I can see the attraction to ceriatone due to the astronomical prices you guy's have to pay.

That is a great point. I live in the US and when I looked into it after buying a headshell the Ceriatone would have been a lot more expensive than the 2555x was.

Even worse here in Europe: when you factor in shipping and taxes/customs, the 2555x is MUCH cheaper than the Ceriatone (the 2555x is 1060€ at Thomann, the Ceriatone comes in at around 1600€ with shipping and taxes)
