Anyone likes the crunch in Rhythm Clip mode on the Silver Jubilee??
Or am i the only one?

In my opinion it's the best crunch sound i've heard.

Reminds me of Gypie Mayo's sound with Dr. Feelgood:

    Thanks for the clip spino.
Comes across a little too much on the hi freq side for my taste and it's aggressivety very much suits this song. Don't know if I could sit thru a complete concert with that guitar tone sound in my ears.
Liked that band though. Will check them out.

    Hi BanditPanda,

    i think it's a crappy recording.
Here's the studio recording which is better (listen to the solo sound at 2:20):

Yup. You were right. Sounds much better. Guess the Jube is considered a bright amp.
For sure you are not the only one ! lol

I hardly ever use the RC. It's not that I find that it sounds bad or anything, but I usually run the amp loud and switch between the clean channel, with a wee bit of natural overdrive with the guitar volume rolled up, and the lead channel.

I use it with the RC activated for a crunchy rhythm sound and then i can footswitch to a higher gain fat solo sound.

Oh now I remember that thread! Awesome find!! I still prefer pushing the Clip mode or simply using Lead channel. For me.

I use all the modes of my new 2525C head depending on the gig.

Gain on 8, RC engaged is my favourite rhythm tone, lead channel for solos, back off the guitar volume for clean.

Push it too with a clean boost. It crushes!

You can say that again! Had my 2525C for several months before I finally tried a boost on the clean channel....OMG! And then boost the gain channel as well...if ya need any more, that is! It's incredible fun.

Yesterday i played the clean channel (input gain 6) with an OCD clone (ENO Trouble Drive).
The Jube sounded twice as big. :)

Nice example of a guy on YT. He recorded the Song with the Rhythm Clip-Channel:

    He says:
I used the "Rhythm" channel of the Silver Jubilee for both left and right guitars and the "Lead" channel for the solo and little lead parts in a separate stereo track.

I never use the Rclip. Maybe I need to finally sit down and give it a shot. I really am tempted to mod it to made the clip foot switchable. Is it possible to get it to clean up with the clip pulled?

I'm also tempted, I'm sure it would be an easy mod...just not sure I need it because so far, I'm getting by with the clean and gain channels, and occasionally using a boost on the clean channel for "crunch". And then if I switch to the gain channel with the boost still on...well, it's even better! :fever:

I finally got around to experimenting with the rythym clip the other week. My times before I just engaged it and didn’t like it too well, but I never actually spent any time on it. I’ve really focused on it as of late and am really digging it. Switch to the lead channel for solos and roll back for that Marshall clean with a little bite.

I've had a Jubilee in my sights for a few months now. I'm coming off a great high from a 78' jmp fullstack, which I had to sell. I wasn't real happy with the sound of my dsl 40 I purchased as a replacement, and tax return time is nearing. There's a mint silver jube half stack reissue not far from me, and the price is right.

From what I've heard online, i'm hoping it'll fill the void from the missing jmp. In the meantime, I've acquired a 73 pro reverb to hold me over, and to be honest, the more I play it and dial it in, the more I fall in love. I really only bought it to use with my tele, but once I put some dirt to it with the les paul, she really began to grab my interest in a big way.

I still want that marshall sound though....i'm gonna have to really piss this guy off to justify the purchase though...I've never really taken a long time to demo before a purchase...always felt weird. F'it, its my money and I want to be happy with the amp. Love the sound clip, thanks for sharing!! Anything I should really pay attention to when looking at this amp trouble wise? It looks like its been played about three times and that's it. No marks, scratches, faceplate looks brand new. Asking 2000.00 obo for the head and matching cab....
