I've been looking at Schecter guitars lately and the hellraisers seem pretty cool although I don't want active pups. There is a hellraiser c1 passive and it's under a grand but a little more than I can shell out right now. The other guitar I've looked at by Schecter is the stealth c1. Looks pretty cool but am not sure on the stock pups. I also don't know what the necks are like since I haven't seen one yet in person. Anyone have a stealth c1 or has played one? The price is under $500 but does that mean it's junk? Your thoughts please.

    Nice guitars. It's not junk.
I don't have one but my buddy does, my cousin does, and they're pretty happy with them. I don't own one but have given them a couple test drives. Nice guitars.

A friend of mine has a c7 stealth and he's super happy with it,especially for what he spent. I'd give it a chance.
If you're not into actives take a look at used SLS or Classic models, those are ****y

If you're lucky, you can probably find a used Schecter Classic C-1 on eBay or Reverb if you want a sub-500 passive Schecter. That, or a C-1 Standard, SLS, or Blackjack.

Otherwise, the C-1 Stealth is a good guitar. Stock pickups are better than the other cheap ****ty stock pickups you find in other guitars. They're pretty bright but are clear and tight.

I picked up a used C-1 (active) for $400. I feel like you get a lot for what you pay for with this C-1.

I've had a couple Schecters, very good guitars. But I would never buy one new unless I knew I was going to keep it forever due to the poor resale.

I've always bought them used off of Craigslist.

My Schecter is by far the best purchase I've made in a guitar. I got a killer deal and I absolutely love the tone after I rewired the messed up electronics when I got it. The previous owner goofed it up pretty bad so I fixed it.

    Love my Schecter.

Yep, and all of the schecs I've played lately have been spot on.

Not to mention their US made stuff...damn I still have an old traditional hunting my dreams since years
