Or they done ef'd up, and twice at that for sending such a shady email? In any case, not clicking on the button in that hella dodgy looking email, but kinda wondering if I should actually manually change any passwords anywhere.
Changing your passwords every once and a while is never a bad idea. I had a spam mail couple of months ago with my exact password inside the mail. If I understand correctly, these kind of data breaches are common, the data is sold on the dark web and then scammers send out automatic mails to trick you into paying. Just ignore them and change all your (important) PWs from e.g. mail, paypal etc.
Oh yeah I got one of those too. But it was my junk-only password. Hmmm...maybe it's this site that got hacked? Or the administration getting extracurricular? PS did you get the "we have webcam video of you choking the chicken to some naughty internet content" one? That's a generic threat, don't worry. They're just guessing what you might be afraid of.
I just use the computer for taxes or work, so... now if they said front facing Android cam Lol. Although, come to think of it, what kind of contortionist pervert would one need to be for any kind of webcam to see much of anything?
Hmm I checked thru Google without clicking the email: it's Pandora that got breached. It's also the same password that got emailed to me with the lame spanky video extortion... a couple weeks back. Cute. Good thing I only ever had the free account, so no credit card info to steal
Just in case anyone is listening...I only use my computers for legal, morally upstanding, legitimate business activities...there, I feel much better now. Seriously, I Hate Scammers! They all deserve a proper ass-kicking, especially the ones that prey on the elderly.
