Christmas is (a) comin'. So I roll out my Aimee Mann CD, 'One More Drifter in the Snow'.
I used to just buy Aimee Mann albums automatically because of her killer song writing.
So I didn't realise it was a collection of Christmas covers (+ one original) until I stuck it on!
It's the only Christmas record I can stomach.

Another one that I own that gets me right here (points to chest) is 'Thank U' by Alanis Morissette.
It was used in the Martin Sheen film 'The Way' to great effect toward the end of the movie (welling up now!).
    Bon Camino.
(BTW antibiotics are not addictive Alanis!)

I share your affinity for Aimee Mann - growing up in the Boston area, 'Til Tuesday seemed to open for every major act that came to town so I probably saw them 10 times, which clued me in early to her talent. I also despise Christmas albums, but I will definitely check that one out.

I got into Aimee Mann after watching Magnolia.
The soundtrack and film are inseparable.

I've been thinking about this for a couple of days. The only thing that comes to mind of possibly qualifying is Changes by Black Sabbath. Though, I'm not ashamed for loving it. It's one on the first Sabbath songs that I figured out how to play, and it was a welcome break from my classical piano lessons back in the mid-70s.

Karen had such a great voice. I'm 53 and remember my dad playing that album.

Black Sabbath, along with Led Zeppelin, are the first game changers for me.

IMO, they are the pinnicle of music.
