    RIP Pete Way.

I was at this show. While I searched for it on YouTube, I was remembering it as one of the loudest shows I've ever been to.

I found this video, and the guy who posted it made mention of the loud volume-

"Filmed By Paul Kim: Throughout the early 90s my buddy filmed a bunch of shows and he gave me the whole lot. Keep in mind these are pre smart phones and was filmed on a Sony 8mm handy cam. I believe this was the last show of the reunion tour. The next night they played The Strand in Redondo Beach and after, Schenker left. It was over. We were lucky to just barely see them. I remember that this show was LOUD!"

Remember, this was a 1500 seat theater, look at that backline!

Don't forget he founded Fastway too.

    Michael Schenker just posted this:
    "Oh my Dear Pete
    You have left us.
    I am so sad.
Your sweet existence has left us. I am in tears.
You were more than you maybe knew.
You were loved by everyone I know.
I am so so very very sad.
    I love you Pete.
    God Bless You Forever.
Rest In Peace my Dear Friend.
My condolences to your loved ones.
From the depth of my heart.
    Michael Schenker .xxx"

Aaaaaah! End of an era! My first concert was UFO opening for Cheap Trick. I missed the Michael Schenker period, probably by months, but Paul Chapman was very good as I recall. I did see M. Schenker open for the Scorpions in the late 80’s.

We’re slowly losing all of our heroes.

Funny you should say that. My second big rock concert was Jethro Tull with UFO opening in 1975 (saw the Stones earlier that year--big disappointment).

    RIP Pete

Damn. The heroes are leaving us fast. Strangers in the Night is one of the 4 or 5 albums that had a definite impact on young me.

I have had Force it on the turntable for the last week.

    Rest in Peace Pete. 15975127539272609059985549042297.jpg
