Saw this last night, terrible news and prayers and mojo being sent Mr. Faulkner's way. I was debating whether or not to buy tickets to the Jersey show - guess this settles it.

I remember the first Judas Priest album I ever bought... "Killing Machine". I had committed a burglary (I was 17 and it was 1978) and had a bit of money in my pocket. I bought it on cassette and played it on my new boombox which I also bought with the proceeds from my crime. Apologies to the gas station/mechanic shop but you shouldn't have put your cash in a refrigerator for safekeeping. We were both to blame.

I saw them in Memphis in 1982. The lights go down and everything is dark. There's a monstrous engine roar. The cells in my body are vibrating. A spotlight hits Halford on a Harley on the stage. It was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. If you were alive at that concert, you were bobbing your head to the music like a metalhead robot. It was one of those perfect concerts.

One final observation: ALL of our rock heroes have died or are going to die. Maybe before or maybe after us. It is what it is. We're all in the queue. Live like today is your last day.

One thing about Ticket Master. Don’t ask for a refund.

I know. I was kidding. That was my mindset 43 years ago.
