Was just taking a trip down memory lane.

This was the last show I went to ... thankfully there were lighters. I was seated just rows from the 2nd (smaller) stage at the end of TL's drums roller coaster (I got a pick tossed from that smaller stage that night courtesy of my friend who caught it). If anybody knows this story ... no, I still haven't plucked a single note with it.

I don't know ... it's a small (maybe even weird?) thing, but there was a certain solidarity in that. There was just that certain point (cough power ballad cough) where you'd reach into your pocket, pull out your lighter, and hoist it up into the air with the feeling that the entire world was embracing each other.

    Here's to cigarette lighters.

I still have one in my Jeep. It is a 1996 and has never been used. :)

The Crue was a favorite. :thumb:

Yep I remember modding them to blow a flame like a torch, watch the girls hair in front of you she probably has Aqua Net hairspray on and the whole place may go up. :run:

I remember the first time I heard MC. My parents were on a trip, and my sister & I were staying w/my aunt/uncle/cousins. My oldest cousin comes into the room, and puts on Shout at the Devil ... I was absolutely mesmerized. They've been in my top few bands since (def top 5).

Funny aside: See my next thread

We skipped school to go to an autograph signing at a record store for MC right after shout at the devil came out. Got Saturday school for that.

My favorite all time bands...........Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Ozzy and then Motley Crue.
I saw the Dr. Feelgood tour. That was a great and favorite show.
I do however remember, as you, the first hearing them---playing Too Fast For Love, Live Wire, Merry-G-Round, Piece Of Your Action and then Shout At The Devil. I was hooked. :)

Dr. Feelgood Tour ... girls in cages. Fond memories.

The only change I'd make in your fav's would be to exchange LZ with Judas Priest. I'd also add Clapton to make it an even 4 fingers and a thumb.

Lighters at concert - brings back lots of memories.
When everyone pointed them up, I pointed mine down, into a pipe....

    I'm with @mickeydg5 - Led Zep #1 "." < that's a period...

Yup, I remember those well! Always looked cool from the balcony section. Never did it myself, as I was stingy with my lighter fluid!

I can also remember when as soon as the lights went down, everyone "lighted up!" :naughty:

Oh, and another vote for Led Zep..Bands like Judas Priest learned their licks from Zep songs!

They probably wouldn’t let you into a show these days with a lighter. I have a light app on my phone just for the hell of it! Its kind of tough to light a joint up with it though lol!

Remember them well. When everyone else was flicking their Bic I was zipping my Zippo.

Maybe there's an app or gif of a lighter for people won't burn themselves for today's delicate world. If so, can go the extra mile and tape 2 phones together back to back so can be seen front and back. lol

I remember concerts with "festival seating" , my time around 1972 and on when I first started to attend, there would be big circles of people sitting on the floor passing around about everything you could think of ...
oh my..... were those the crazy days.
