Hey TS - how the heck is it, that you are always here, posting every single day, for like the last 9 years and stuff, and you only have 3,079 posts? Did you cheat and roll back your mileage or something? What.

It only seems like he's always here because he drives slow in the left lane.

Yup, ain't that the truth! :agreed:

And if ya want to see any of the bands from the 70's now, that is, the ones who are still around, ya better be ready to shell out some BIG $$$! Like a couple of hundred for front-row seats.

But it's about the music, not about the money..

I saw Jethro Tull for $5 and the Rolling Stones for $10 in 1975. Back then, they toured to support their albums (which is where the real money was made). Now there is no money in albums--they make records to have something to play in their uber-expensive concerts.

Dude, I think a couple hundred for front-row seats was about 30 years ago. You want front row? Add another zero or two. My God, I remember the first time I saw $100 on a ticket, and it was to an OzzFest show back in the mid 90's ... he was playing w/Black Sabbath for the first time in years (first reunion), so I had to swallow the pain of the ticket costs (took my GF & her brother), but it was a real WTF moment. Our seats? They weren't too bad ... it was on the ground floor of Giants Stadium (the original).

Ok, so as to not make that a H U G E paragraph, I just thought of something from that night ... the ground floor was pretty open, which is to say, it was was standing room 'seating' ... I remember it was early on, and some of the warmup bands were playing, so we went to the bathroom ... well, on our way back, a swarm of people started jumping over the barriers to the floor from the seated areas, and as I saw this happen, I grabbed my GF & her brother, and started to move them out of the way so as to avoid the rush ... wouldn't you know it, the police on hand thought we were some of the jumpers! We were then escorted out of the stadium along with dozens of other people. I was absolutely sick to my stomach. While everyone else who was thrown out started to disperse, I started to argue with the people who threw us out, and demanded to see their supervisor ... thankfully, one was on hand, and I was able to show the tickets we had that were legit ... and we were let back in! There was on old Black Sabbath forum (long discontinued) where the whole scene was described in detail, including us being let back in lol.

    Good memories.

Oh, just thought of another memory ... I took her brother to his first strip club for his 18th birthday. Might want to tell that story in the backstage though.

I've found that tix can be cheaper if one goes straight to the band's website, sometimes a lot cheaper! It seems that when ya pull up concert tickets prices now you get mostly third party sellers who at one time would have been considered scalpers if they were selling in front of the venue..Dunno how they get away with it.

I was checking out tickets for a band from back in the day last week, on their website they actually had a backstage pass/meet and greet package for about $650.00..That would have been cool, but six and a half bills can buy some nice gear, and I think I would rather watch concert DVD's at home and play with new toys! :D
