Most stores that I frequent are all about rounding up the bill?

Why not round down the total , instead of up charging the consumer?

At first ,I thought these local stores are asking to round up for a charity,or aid for some obscure country for wherever? Frankly I think that any business asking taxpayers for more is bullsh!t, let alone in this price gouging greedy economy. But that's a discussion for another time.

Facts are , its because the idiot kids they hire to work a computerized register ( that already does all the math for them ) CANT MAKE CHANGE FOR DOLLAR !!!!!!!
Why would a store hire such a dunce to work a register?
How did they graduate high school ,without 4 th grade math down pat?

Are kids really that dumb,that they totally rely on technology to think for them? Yet are allowed to drive 2 ton automobiles,....that's scary!

So what happens when the power goes out,and every device is rendered useless? Do they all just take a cyanide tab for a easy out? Also very sad that kids can't read an analog clock either, or drive a manual transmission ? By kids I mean 30 year olds.
Teachers around the globe should be fired for not preparing these knuckleheads for the real world. By the real world,I don't mean the internet. Maybe they shouldnt be allowed to bring fn gadgets into the classroom, ie cellphones /headphones apps/games etc. The parents arent doing sh!t these days either. Kids have zero respect nor manners. My mother was all over my sh!t growing up,she knew what I was doing ,before I knew what I was about to do. Thanks mom for caring, and making me realize that the world doesn't stop for me!

My school didn't even allow tank tops on boys in the last week of school. No radios,no calculators....Nada ! No distractions. These kids Google /plagiarize everything, why not just burn the library down,no ones used it in 20+ years. These kids have it the easiest ever technology wise. How come they are so stupid?

I'm so glad that I don't have a tard of my own to have to follow through life.

I know what you mean, but it's not the teachers fault. They're told what to teach and barely have enough time to do that let alone real math without a calculator.

As for parents, most parents these days need to work a minimum of 40 hours weekly and many need to work a lot of overtime just to scrape by. Long gone are the days where one person could work 40 hours a week and easily support an entire family. So parents don't really raise their own kids anymore and IMO that's the biggest factor contributing to the collapse of our society and lack of morals that the new generations exhibit.

It's just terrible and really bothers me, and unfortunately, I don't foresee it getting better any time soon.

Me and my old fart friends write in cursive so the kids have no idea what we're planning.

We also use correct grammar and complete sentences.

Well I know of my step daughter that's, ironic to this thread, is a math teacher and my granddaughter.

Her family gets paid squat and barely see their kid. My granddaughter is mostly raised by her teachers and the degenerates at daycare. Losing equation imo.

But yeah, there are plenty of bad examples like you mentioned too.

When my boy was 1-5 I worked 45-50+ hours a [wife self employed too] week in retail [more later when I was self employed] as I was burnt on consulting and refused to travel as I would miss time with my boy. He was my focus when I got home and I really enjoyed the time with him - building legos, Thomas the Tank Engine, reading and watching 'thinking' stuff on TV - 'How it was made', history channel and such.

I don't buy the whole 'no time' thing as when you have something important in your life you make time.

That rant was to say this - I look at parents from 30 years ago until now and I have the same question - 'Why did you have !!**$@%$^&&$@#$#@$@#%^%$&$&^*&%*&!!!! kids????' Yep, it still winds me up. If you don't plan to make them the center of your universe lady keep them legs slammed shut and dude the zipper zipped. It's not that hard to not have kids if you don't plan to change your lifestyle. I had to grow up to become parent material [at 39] and then grew a bunch more to become a father.

I watch 1+ year olds playing with mom's or dad's phone to keep them quiet. What you can't interact with your child?!? You can't make the effort to make the mundane chores like food shopping an adventure - yes I've been lectured about appropriate cart driving in several stores. You can teach them manners and have the micro pixel of commonsense God gave a flea to not insist they act like adults when you're clearly not.

BTW I used to apologize to my boy about the state of the world he would inherit - then I realized he would be somewhere near the top as he's polite, has a great work ethic and is already making more money than I do.

I don't personally know what they knew/thought because we're not close but c'mon dude. Most people want to reproduce and they should be able to. Wages are shit in the US compared to how they should be and how they used to be. I understand the point you're trying to get across but reproduction is the strongest instinct in everything on earth. It's going to happen, even though it shouldn't a lot of the time with the human race. Lol

for most its like. "damn, what do we do now" type replies.
they fool arond, get preg, and not ever think of the consequences,
and sacsacrifices that will have to be made to care for the child.
nor do they think about the expense both financial and otherwise.
in most areas there is more required to adopt a dog or cat than
is required to be a parent of a human child.

its honestly ALMOST at the point i think there should be some kind of screening
and backgroud check before you can have children.

A much easier and better solution would be to increase wages to a standard like they used to be in the good old days when one person could easily support an entire family while working only 40 hours weekly. Vast majority of problems solved.

The majority of people produced throughout all of humanity have been by accident with absolutely no planning involved what so ever. Just as I'm sure I was (why wouldn't I be, who the fuck in their right mind would want a whinny little brat?!). The difference? When I was born wages were fair, unlike today.

There are numerous things contributing to our problems in the US, but I think that near the top of the list are shit wages and overpriced higher education.

Seeing some of you guys are so optimistic about kids not needing to have basic tools in their belt . Ok , lets forget 4th grade math lol. Most boys can't change a flat on their car,they'd rather wait two hours for roadside to do a 10 minute ordeal.. Parents dont want their kids learning practical things in life, but playing with a gadget for 19 hrs a day is fine lol! Personally ,I wouldn't want my kid to be brainwashed by the www, ie. the electronic babysitter. Try this the next time you go into ANY store, ask a kid a legitimate question regarding product in said store? -Deer in the headlights! It's like their first day,everyday.
Yet they deserve $15 an hour? Nope !

What's more sad, is how their parents want to bury their heads in the sand, and make excuses why their children are so lazy and unambitious,and reward them for being that way. That's not teaching them chit ! How about accountability for starters? Show up on time ,give an honest days work, don't make anyone pick up your slack ! Simple enough.

I think some of that attitude these parents have is because they think that basic skills are only required if someone is bound to be a low browed cretin and if you "waste" time learning that stuff you'll never learn anything substantial and end up a "lowly" blue collar worker rather than the rocket surgeon that they feel their "special one" is meant to be. You know, because we're ALL special!
