Why limit your chouces to Celestion?
Why not Eminence or WGS?

Couldn't really say. Haven't had the opportunity to load alllll of said speakers in mine. ;)
BTW you can get a fat warmer sound from the 40C with speaker break in, I have a V30. NOS pre amp tubes, different bias, EQ settings, C19 clip, all contribute. You don't need to change the speaker necessarily although many do.

The green crunch channel can be dialed in warm and fat as is. Boost it if you need more gain.

i had wgs et65 in mine though..

I don't own a DSL 40C, but the WGS ET65 produces warm tones.

Eq
Fat is in the low mids
Warm is in the center
Don't be afraid to cut limited eq's (like a 3 or 2 knob eq section) and turn volume up. Sometimes cutting the highs and lows and boosting overall volume is as good as boosting mids.
