I myself wish that Marshall would reissue these series of amps and I suppose many of the original and current owners of marshall JTM60 models do.
I always thought they sounded very good (especially after some mods) and are definitely one the best looking marshalls ever.

Tonewise my 3x10" combo is way above my JVM, Fender Supersonic 60 and also other amps I owned like Peavey Valveking and Hughes Kettner Grandmeister 40 and some other amps I tried from Marshall, Fender and Vox.
They did have some design flaws and reliability issues which would be an easy fix for Marshall.
What is your opinion? Vote if you'd like to see Marshall revive and reissue the JTM60 series!!!

You can read more about them (mods, problems etc.) in my older thread hier in forum:

Here some sound and review videos of JTM30/60 and JCM600:

I agree they sounded quite good, I had a student who would bring his jtm with him for his lessons. Kinda velvety and smooth

Problem is, a reissue would likely be dead in the water because of the stigma of the original series' reliability issues

It would be better if they would address the issues of the first run and produce the improved version under a different name

Would not mind if they use another name. Probably that would be best. Hope you didn't vote NO, because essentially it would be the same amp as long as they stick to the sound and looks only improved and renamed.

I see those for cheap sometimes and I'm tempted, but I've read about them being lemons so I stay away. Don't they have heat issues because of the horizontal tubes and lack of ventilation?

Jtm 50, anyway Marshall doesn't have any good designers since Steve Dawson has left 😆. He designed the vintage Modern class 5 ,Hendrix stack, think the Astoria also. Nothing new since the Origin.

I recently picked up a JCM600 chassis - basically a JTM60 with different branding.
Great tone, and different enough from my other Marshall amps to make it a keeper.
I'm in the process of mounting it in a home build head shell with a pair of 112 cabs.
Going with the chassis inverted so the tubes are on top.
Face plate is upside down, but I don't really care.

Yep, the tubes in the combo my student has are mounted horizontally, and from what I understand it was common for them to overheat. If I recall correctly there are some easy remedies including installing a little computer fan in there to keep things nice and chilly Willy.

My (former) student still has his, and says he has never had a problem of any kind with it in 15 years

I am original owner of the amp (1997). I never had any of the problems people described and why the amp got a bad rep. But I decided to do some preventive measures after I decided to mod it anyway. But that was in 2016, same as the thread I linked in the above post.

I had a jtm 60. It was OK but I remember it being bright and fizzy. I did have a power tube blow on it(not sure if it was a bad tube or amp design that killed it) but I replaced um with JJ e34l and biased to 70% and that fixed it.

Well pretty much the clean chanel was really good stock. Some say that was the best clean on marshall ever. Not like fender but also not like most marshall cleans. Kinda best of both I'd say. Gain chanel was fizzy because of the clipping diodes if not played loud. The most popular mod on these is the removal of diodes.

I had one briefly. I was in a pretty loud band at the time and it didn't seem to be able to keep up. I remember it sounding OK though. Just that no- one could hear how good it sounded.

Also it would be nice if those who vote NO argument why, also supposing they have some experience with these amps or at least had heard them.

Voted yes, I played a 2x10 combo model a few years ago and I remember it being a very good-warm sounding amp. Plus, I loved the size and look of the amp and the faded brown grill cloth.
Hi Jcm800,

as far as I know there where 3x10" (like mine l which supposed to be the best sounding), 1x12", 2x12" and 1x15" models. Pretty sure there wasn't a 2x10" model. Maybe on the small brother JTM30 but can't say.

I voted no because of the whacky design, not because of the functionality or tone.
I agree with @jcm800gridlock - love the size and look of the amp, and I also like the warmer tone than say a DSL.
The 600 I recently got needed some minor repairs, and it was a PITA to do the simplest things like change out a pot and just reconnect a wire.
If they were to "re-issue" the series, I might change my vote if they included the same circuit in a more standard chassis/board/tube configuration.
