Ever since the heart attack in September 2016 Fast food has made me feel like shit.
Gradually, I ate less and less of it.
Till now, I'll only eat it as a last resort.
Likewise, I had a stroke in 2012, which I suspect was due to a lifetime of quick foods, stress, and working with computers for over 2 decades. That, and I was never even overweight. So you never know. Just all of a sudden, one day...

BOOM!
"Well, I guess I shouldn't have done that."
Oops - too late now.

If you think paybacks are a b****, wait til you figure out about hindsight.

Hope you're both in good health these days. Lots of great humor on this forum mixed in with the amp stuff, but on the serious side truly hope you're both living well.

Thanks bro. Things be good here. In my case, I regained most of what I lost functionally, and have been playing again since late that year.

I do the Chick Fillet; Wendy's, or even White Castle thing on occasion.

White Castle is an adventure.

I think I learned my lesson there.

After White Castle, my ass turns into a facet.

Chick Fillet and Wendy's are still happening but not often.

Played my last band gig a month after my heart attack.
Was about a year into my studio build. All self built. Took another year to complete.
Was relocated to Midwest......
Since have been working on a solo acoustic project.
Provided Covid doesn't cause cancelation. Will have first corporate gig since before the pandemic, next month.
Would love to find a band, so I could crank it up again.
But, fewer and fewer of us old guys willing to do it anymore.
And I refuse to get into a situation, I don't feel comfortable in.
Taking things one day at a time.
Lost allot of brothers over the years. Guess I'm lucky to still be vertical.

I bought me one of those air fryers. Haven't used it yet. Are they any good?
they do lack flavor, but supposedly are better for you...

I bought one that's a microwave/convection/air-fryer 3-in-1.

I mean, I could air fry a pizza, & it would probably be nice, because the grease would drip off & not get the crust soggy, but, IDK if it would be any better.

I fry freezer fried foods in it, & they seem to lack a bit in flavor, as opposed to frying them again.

I air fry stuff like french fry leftovers & they cook better than if you try reheating them any other way.

So, IMO, they serve their purpose, but are not a magic replacement, if you're expecting great flavor for everything. Better health? That might be up for grabs, depending on if you use it right, or not.

I always see people talk about how delicious air-fried food tastes, but, IMO, it lacks flavor, so delicious wouldn't be my 1st thought.

I guess any cutting out of deep frying in oil/grease is a step in the right direction health-wise. Some things cook remarkably well in it...

Cooking w/ it, is a learning curve.

I like to nuke things up front & then air-fry to take away the nuke molecular dissipation of moisture...

My son gave my wife an air fryer, great for fries, chicken, if it’s not over cooked, my wife uses it quite a bit.
But I stay with my grill outside, for most of the cooking I do.
Thanks

Packaged nicely and cheeseburgers constructed to perfection.. the Japanese don’t joke around..

And here's New York's finest. The box of fries was laid horizontally across he top of two of these, and every last fry was out of the box and on the bottom of the bag. The two cheeseburgers & fries were so greasy that the grease was actually soaking through the wrappers and the paper bag. Oddly, upon unwrapping the one below, the burger appeared to be rather dry. The bun was thicker than I'd ever seen. Clearly you are not getting an honest deal. I ate a handful of the fries, one cheeseburger, tossed the rest in the garbage and felt like I needed a shower. $8.24 after NYS sales tax.

I keep saying "never again", but never again.
