Could the new type be considered KLON?

The TS & clones don't give me what I want with Marshalls at band volume. The SD-1 is good [somewhat noisy] but the RAT 2 is sublime for that push the Marshall over the edge territory. I find keeping the gain in the 9 to 11 o'clock area works best for me. If I NEED more an Empress Heavy delivers.

I'm not sure what your point is for this poll. Don't understand the title and the list for that matter.

    that's OK.

    I'm scatterbrained.

Guitarists lean exclusively towards either TS or Rat as OD/distortion. Now Klon seems to have muscled it's way into the picture as a 3rd alternative. I threw DOD into poll just as a monkey wrench.

From what I under stand SD-1 compliments TS. And MXR+ compliments RAT.

To me, the SD and the TS are overdrive pedals, the rat is more distortion, it has a LOT of distortion. The Klon is on another plain as it's almost $2k.

Well, of course. I took your post to mean the real thing though. If it were me though and you want a nice dirt pedal I would take a very hard look at the Friedman be.

Between the TS9 and Rat...I kicked the Rat off of my board a few weeks ago. It's too fuzzy. Like sloppy fuzz. Just didn't sound good at any volume. The TS9 sounds awesome, but that was moved to spare pedal status by my new OCD. So now it's OCD>Timmy>Metal Zone.
