You would hope so but I get the feeling that you love to tinker.

You might even call amp building and tinkering an addiction:dude:

Im not even sure id want to buy a finished amp anymore... its extremely addictive.. the whole process.... the wiring, making the headshell, tolex, piping. I enjoy every step of amp building...

I agree. The main downside is that my house is filled with amps. Must. Stop. Building…..

I thought about selling a few so I could build a few more of my favorites. Instead, I’ve begun to tinker, improving and refining a few of them.

...and in the end, when you get them to sound exactly how you want them to, you cant let them go...

I’ve clipped the bright cap in a 2203 and my 72 Trem; didn’t care for it as it neutered the amp somewhat…immediately soldered them back in.

I cracked when we got to 40 amps and projects! Hence me selling some duplicates.

I would also suggest looking at the speaker(s)/cab you are using. This can have a big effect on your perceived treble.

Damn! 40? I only have about 15. I can see that I have more work to do. I have my eye on the new Mojotone Hiwatt 50 watt clone.

You can try to put a resistor in serie with your bright cap! Try 470k ohms or 220k ohms! It will lower the amount of high frequency. My 2 cents.
